Just came through Brixton heading south. North carriageway outside Brixton tube station closed. Couldn't see Whathad happened but a bystander said it was a cyclist. Whole road closed off with tape and loads of police taking statements. Hope they're ok (but I fear not, due to the amount of police and ambulance crew) :(

Hi
I'm selling my old fixed gear bike. I do not know the history or make of the frame, but it does have a nice ring to it and is light so I'm assuming a decent grade of steel; it has track ends. Forks are Colnago. Rims are Mavic, hubs are System EX; wheels are sound and true. Crank is campag. Front brake is Modolo Corsa.
Price: £150 ONO (PM me a decent offer)
This bike is mechanically sound and clean but quite tatty. Would make an ideal second/emergency bike or a restoration project
Sold as seen
Tulse Hill, South London

Sorry to be bumping old threads but I am interested in the Sturmey Archer S3X which seems to be available now. I have a questions though....
I had Varno make me a lovely deep section (40mm) rear wheel. On;y problem is it is 32 hole and the hub is 36 hole. Does anyone know if there are 36h deep section rims available and if so which manufacturers are rated?
I've got a knackered back so am having to consider gears, bah!, but don't want to compromise the look of my bike too much. I'm no fan of derailleur.
Thanks in advance

The frame look like it fit you fine, especially with the amount of seatpost shown.
If you really have bad issue with back, you should considered contacting Bike Whisperer who will sort out your position and able to help preserve what left of your crippling back and prevent yourself from becoming a teenslain.
Just googled them. I will investigate further. Many thanks for the tip :)

comfort should come first, especially if you have health issues
you might want to take a chain link out to get the rear axle more secure in the dropouts
also yo seem to have a kink in your chain from where you refitted it
Taking a link out of the chain will move the wheel forward (horizontal dropouts, not track ends), It will stretch soon enough. Yep on the kink, I had done the link nut up too tight. Sorted it before I did the test ride.

why the awful bars/stem?
I personally like the bars with those grips. Stem is a compromise. I needed to get a more 'sit up' riding position due to lower back problems so needed to have the bars up, and needed to bring them back towards the saddle so had to go with a stem with no front reach. It doesn't look all that good, I admit and I will probably go for a different stem in the future.

So I thought I'd have a go at building my own.....
Not very high end bits. Frame form a mate (originally it came from Holland I think). I had Edwardes of Camberwell fit the headset. Armourtex powdercaoted then clearcoated it with a metal flake in to give a pearlised finish:
Wheels form varno:
Sturmey Archer crank and Shimano BB:
So here goes.....
