Hi All! Moving this over from another thread.
this is version 0.8 of my new bike - I plan to finish it with a full athena groupset. will be updating the progress here as i upgrade!
0.8 version specs are as below
headset and BB - Ofmega - i think im happy with these. ideally campagnolo, but have other priorities.
frame - Bianchi 58.5cm
seatpost - kalloy black - i want to use an athena seatpost eventually, but really do like the look of a black seatpost.... but will have to give way!
stem - ritchey quill - im happy with this.
cranks - athena 2nd generation
front derailleur - shimano - to become athena
rear derailleur - athena 2nd generation
shifters - athena 8 speed indexed
wheels - open sup to shimano 600 - i have an athena to omega wheelset waaiting to be mounted... yeah! but might keep the shimano set for the winter.
bars - some bars i found somewhere - i love these bars.
breaks - shimano 600 at the moment. I want them to be athena, but i heard they are very expensive, so probably will come last...here are some pictures
they are taken with my amazing samsung phone camera!
i know non driveside pictures are bad... they are athena 2nd gen. cranks. very pretty.
one day it will be full athena! the shifters, cranks and rear derailleurs are as of now
oh and an athena wheelset, once spring comes...
saddle was a birthday present from the missus :)
i love these barsThank you!

Hello!
the sale of this bike fell through multiple times and I wasnt able to sort it out before i left London.
now im in NY and the bike is at a friend's place! Its Caledonian Road.... anyone want to take it for 140?
it needs the front brake sorted, a flat repaired and rear wheel trued, then good to go!
it is composed of decent parts in general - the parts will add up to well above the price of the bike as a whole.let me know guys!

THanks guys - yeahnerdz - Although I didnt mention so above, I'd like to give people who can collect priority... sorry man.... cant face another trip to the post office!
JoelR - emailed you back
Oller - Ill try to find something. bought it at a shop in Amsterdam, its fixed onto your head tube with 2 fasteners, no fixing to the front wheel. so it doesnt rotate with your steer when you turn! -
Decent bike at a good price
Im selling my bike. it was used as my commuter for roughly two years, now im moving back to NY. Ive some other bikes there.
58cm, single speed, fixed transmission, its a good bike.
Would fit someone between 175-190cms in height, depending on how leggy you are.I would like £165
Im leaving the country on Friday. I hope the bike is priced well enough to sell before then.
Pictures to follow later tonight.
in Holloway/Tufnel Park areaFrame
Racer frame from a bikeshop called Brands in Amsterdam, and it is roughly the same spec as the 80’s Gazelle Champion Mondial racers (531 and all that). It has Campagnolo dropouts, Zeus forks that are chromed. One chainstay is chromed too. Quite close clearances.
bought here : http://www.lfgss.com/thread42085.htmlParts
- Knockoff Campagnolo cranks by Andel, 47t ring also by Andel
- Izumi chain (has a quick release thing)
- generic 17t cog, generic lock ring
- generic pedals, cage, strap (plastic/nylon) (I find that leather straps tend to break!?!? Does -nanyone else get this? Everyone seems to be using leather straps!?)
- Velo orange rims on formula track hubs (Free-fixed)
- Velo orange bars, roughly chopped. Re-taping recommended.
- Shimano BB.
- The headset will be changed to a Shimano 105 one. im keeping whats on it.
- Dia Compe break on front connected to a Tektro reverse lever on the left side (American style) it is currently defunct as a fixing is missing. so I never really used the break. The rims are both in good condition for this reason!
- Panaracer tyres that are definitely NOT new but still usable (I moved the more worn one to the front)
- White Rolls
- SR Custom short reach stem (70mm ish)
roughly how it looks
Some notes
THE BREAK DOESNT WORK AT THE MOMENT - YOU WILL NEED A SMALL FIXING THING.
The rear wheel spokes were loose and so I tightened them, but I didnt do a good job and it is out of true. It needs to be trued. No damage on it.
Bits of rust exist, I varnished over them but havent fundamentally dealt with them. its not too bad. Small spots. I don’t think you need a repaint unless youre really fussy. Will post up some pictures later tonight (around midnight)
PLEASE NOTE THAT WHOMEVER BUYS THE BIKE WILL HAVE TO RIDE IT BREAKLESS UNTIL YOU FIX ITIf anyone is interested please email me to jjk0309@gmail.com I cant log in here so often as Ive got too much work and packing to do... :(
The bike isnt listed elsewhere. Thanks for the interest.
