Yes it looks really nice, but it would look so much better if those wheels were taken apart and re-laced onto GEL 330s, GP4s or whatever, with a gumwalled vittoria or veloflex.
I don't really understand why anyone would keep a bike like that NOS. I would personally keep it in my Italian villa* for riding to the coffee shop in the next village and other sunny day slow rides. I'd also have a Colnago Arabesque* as a beater bike.

wow, so it's proper fucked. shame.
Yes, the fork is knackered, unless you have highly advanced skills known as using a power drill. I'd bet a few people here have access to such an advanced tool and have used it to put up shelves etc ;-)
Bottom line, add £10 to cover a few larger drill bits and I'll do it myself for you.
-
Re. Stem issue, ages ago I cut the stem off at the top of the steerer and started to drill out the remains. It was fairly easy, but I stopped after 5 mins as I realised that a 10mm drill bit wouldn't finish the job as you need something about twice as big. So the steerer has a partly drilled lump of aluminium in it. Meant to buy a larger drill, but never got round to it.
So either you will need to spend 20 mins with a drill bit of the right size or 3000 minutes with coca cola to clear out the steerer tube if you want to use the fork again.

These are a pair of 36h Mavic 531 screw-on hubs (like 501s) laced to MA2 rims with ss db spokes. Supposedly 531s are spaced to 135mm, but these are 130mm (i.e. road not MTB spacing) The rims are not true, the spokes are frozen, the front hub is missing an axle cap (the black bit which touches the inside of your fork). But the hubs are both SILKY smooth and polish up nicely, so are a good candidate for a fixie rebuild.[/Strike] -
My red Ribble f+f £50
Size 54cm c-c top tube and seat tube. Made of Columbus SLX. Threaded steerer. Full chrome under paint. Straight, no dents etc. Paint is knackered. Rides nicely - won a few races on it back in the day. Now ripe for re-invention as a fixie or beater bike. Also includes a FAG square taper b/b in OK condition.
Small hitch: The quill stem got stuck in the fork, so you will have to drill / saw / coca cola it out. Or you might just swap it for a carbon fork. [edit: Now fixed - see thread]
Collection from SE21 only please.

***SOLD: [strike]Boardman Comp SC Fixed Gear road / outdoor track bike - 54cm - New and unridden - Was GBP 350 ono ***
I never got round to riding this and am moving house, so it's for sale in new condition at a bargain price.
It has a really nice aluminium frame with lots of shaped tubes, nice simple paint job and good bits. Unlike many other bikes in this price range it comes with bits you don't need to swap before riding it - Continental tyres, Mavic rims, Ritchey bits etc. so no corners cut. (full spec and geometry below)
You could ride it fixed / free or road / track (outdoors) or with brakes / without... For example you could commute on it, then at the weekend you could unbolt the brakes and take a spin round Hearne Hill track.

I acquired this, but haven't got round to riding it and need to make room in my shed. By buying it from me you avoid dealing with Halfords (I could write a few pages on this but won't bore you). Anyway I've adjusted it so that it won't fall apart / kill you when you ride it, and you get it for GBP 400 instead of 500.My own view is that it's a really nice aluminium frame with lots of shaped tubes, nice simple paint job and good bits. Unlike many other bikes in this price range it comes with tyres that cost more than 2p, mavic rims etc. As far as I could see no corners cut. Excellent VFM, even better at this price. Size 54cm, so suits approximately averagely sized blokes.
You could ride it fixed / free or road / track (outdoors) or with brakes / without... pretty much any way you like.
The catch? There is none. Well, only that you need to pick the bike up from darkest Dulwich, and that you're not taking a test ride until you pay for it as I'd rather keep it new and unridden unless you buy it. Happy to help you adjust it though so that you can ride away happy into the sunset (if you pick it up around 4pm, with lights of course)

Nice bike, but the RRP of f&f is $4000 = £2500, so I would advise anyone thinking about this to take a cheap flight to the US and pick up a new one, with your choice of paint, decals, geometry, etc... Any remaining cash can be spent on donor parts, preferably bought from someone who spends more time polishing their bike than riding it, or at least cares enough to wash the bike before listing it here.
