The thing that surprised me was that Singapore Air that I'm flying with would charge $50US/kg for the first 6kg for a bike as checkin baggage from the Euro to Singa leg, then another fee for the Singa to Aus leg. It could be free if you can keep it within your total 20kg checkin baggage limit for economy class. Some airlines differ for sports equip. I'm going to miss the access to cheap Dolan frames. Maybe there might be some good value Aus track frames? I digress..

I'm shipping stuff back to Aus at the moment and Seven Seas had a buy 1 get 1 free deal for tea chests at £70. My search found they were also cheapest for shipping bikes for £94. Thought about just shipping the frame but I reckon it's still at least £60 so I've decided to regrettably sell my fixie or at least the frame and wheelset which can't fit in a tea chest. Plus I didn't want to risk getting stung with a surprise quarantine fee and I look forward to building up another bike over there.

Got myself a set too, however my current 122mm BB obviously put the chainline way off even when I switched the chainring to the inside of the crank arm.
So should I go for the recommended 103mm Sunrace BB or go with a better quality 107mm as there's a lot more choice for the same price range.
I'm assuming the effective difference from the recommended 103mm is only 2mm in the chainline which is quite marginal seeming that a couple of you guys got it working with a 107mm? Apologies in advance if I sound a little pedantic on getting a perfect chainline :)

ha, nice one. Riding back home brakeless that night was a little dodgey with my sketchy knees when I forgot that I didn't have my hand brake while stopping at the lights.
@upstart, how much would you be willing to part with the gold RH? Although, I would have preferred a replacement black to try and reduce the attention thieves. Thanks for responding though.

Just trying to make a light-hearted joke from an annoying situation but it would be a pretty safe bet when the only guy who stood next to my bike while I was watching from the across the street was the guy unlocking his bike next to mine hence only stealing the brake which would be less noticeable from across the street.
Anyway, back to the main topic.

Hey,
Just wondering if anyone has a Goldfinger brake lever (black and right) to sell me to replace mine that got stolen last night in front of Jaguar Shoes in Shoreditch. To the person who stole it, I know which bike you have as you parked it next to mine so I will kick you up the bum when I catch you for committing such a petty crime.
cheers everyone else.

Fair call on paying the fine if you've broken the law but I'll take my missus' word on the fact that she didn't notice the red light (or flashing amber) at the pedestrian crossing.
The officer wrote on his statement that she was "sleeping when riding" when she told him that she was tired (which he couldn't spell correctly) after finishing work and didn't notice the pedestrian crossing light. I reckon the officer was "sleeping" himself to even notice the colour of the light with a pretty obvious mistake as "Mr".
Anyway, I hope it makes the ticket void therefore saving us from disputing if she ran a red light or not.

Hey Jed, just a little tip, the guys on this forum are pretty clued up on their gear, hence the not so welcoming responses :) Don't expect to get back the money you spent as I recently sold a bike a few hundred less than what I spent - just how the used goods market operates... Or try your luck on gumtree
