Looks exciting never explored this area at all.
Struggling to get to the pre rides as im normally working Saturday but I have already started training for 2025 after last years poor performance.
Im going to cut back on some of the weight this time as well and go for a more streamlined set up.
Looking forward to it. -

I definitely do not need another frame , but Glws @clubman.
Im sure ive metioned it before but i love the forks on this frame and I quite like the idea of resilion canterlever brakes but i do not have an appropriate frame for them -

Lovely looking bike. Nice colour too.
Ive just built up a new frame with a set of williams cranks which im sure uses the same chainrimg pattern. Do you know the brand of yours.?
If commuting without mudguards i would temporarily replace the saddle with something a bit more pedestrian, unless your only using it in the dry.
Enjoy. -
Im not sure about Oxford but im sure there would have been some second glances in Dartford and its environs.
Would you consider fitting a full on chaincase, Lighter and arguably more practical without it, however looking at Sunbeam Roasters on Ebay they do look cool with the chaincase.
Good luck with the riding. -
Well done @clubman, a tough ride indeed.
It has been unseasonably cold with a persistent wind for what seems like forever. At least judging by the photos it was dry, even still it can make for an uncomfortable ride. The bike looks very smart and so unusual did it garner plenty of interest while out.
Was repairing the puncture straight forward with that set up. Im assuming you used the old school puncture repair kit method and not just a replacement inner tube. -
Thanks again for a great ride @youramericanlover. Much appreciated
easily the most scenic HDIJ route ive been on particularly the idealic villages and oldie worlde pubs around Bodiam and Northiam. -

Did a recce a couple of weeks ago to pole hill, it was dry then but under the bridge was still like a bog. I stayed on the raised path to the left. (the photo is from the other side, so looking down the hill)
For anybody that doesn't know old pole hill, the scenery picks up after the underpass, (as does the angle of ascent) It will also be slippery with wet weather forecast this week and a blanketing of fallen leaves. looking forward to it. -

Yes they could for added piece of mind.
I use steel stronglight cranks with cotter pins, ta ring and single ring adaptor.
Stronglight headset which originally came with the frame.
BB is Bayliss Wiley.
GB courier brakeset
I use clipless pedals, as modern shoes keep me warmer in the winter with over socks.
schwalbe tyres for obvious reasons and a modern Brooks saddle, i have got vintage saddles but they do not like to get wet.
The harden hubs are laced to weinmann 27.1.1/4 inch rims.
Oh and a modern chain and sprocket. So not a complete vintage build but its very practical and it means i can ride an A.S. Gillott every day

Not all..https://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/classic_components/harden-bicycle-products/
Been commuting with a set of these for about 6 years 30miles a day in any weather And they have been amazing. Havent had to change the cartridges once. Incidentally the bearings are still easily available as a metric size. -
