its like this;
I have a bike (90s) that has a rear wheel with screw on six speed freewheel. The hub (low flange) needs replacing. Just finding a replacement screw on hub would be the simplest option as I then retain rim and spokes , so cost is kept minimal and the bikes keeps going....
However, an alternative is to replace the entire wheel, retain the freewheel. Its an option but only if there is a wheel lurking around looking for a bike.
Another alternative is that I would be interested in trying to upgrade the whole affair to 7/8 speed (with downtube shifters or otherwise) but this would probably be too costly given that it is not meant to be a project and I have other projects that need spending on.
Now I have discovered Spa cycles do cheap "Zenith" screw on hubs so that might be the new best option but no doubt quality is questionable.
(........Its very tempting to make this a single speed conversion and go out and buy a new "go anywhere" bike)

I thinks that a track hub? I need a hub for a screw on block and only a wheel if clincher, thanks though... Have another rummage !

I am looking for a 700c rear for screw on freewheel. Or, maybe better, decent screw on hub, pref. 36h. Anything out there? Need reasonable quality, not beater stuff ....

I have a spare ticket for the sold out event Revolution 11 track cycling at Lee Valley VeloPark, London on Saturday 15th. Doors open at 12, first race at 1pm. Finishes at 4pm.

I would like to get back what I paid for it, £30. It's the first event there since the Olympics. I have a second ticket if somebody preferred a pair.

If buying single ticket will meet at velodrome. If buying pair can meet Saturday morning Victoria or central, or anytime, anywhere in Brighton or Sussex.

VeloPark sold out....... but ticket still available; can possibly let someone have the two tix if they prefer!

i suppose it ends up seeming a touch pricey for a 531 frame, but you are having to take into account a quality headset plus your outlay on the paint job, and that is a very nice paint job, may i ask where you got it done for a 1er? I really like Nigel Dean frames and more than enjoy using mine which is nowhere as good looking as this baby, which will build up into a real looker! Good luck...
