The legs moving around could cause a lot of turbulence/drag. But that with a fairing on the front seems the same as obree's version to me "aero" wise, just more comfortable.
Maybe the weird lever pedalling is actually very efficient?
just revisit the idea behind this is having an aerodynamic edge over his opponents by making his fairing sleeker. the legs moving is only a problem because it would make a big bulge in the fairing on the back of the bike necessary - just so happens the trailing edge is the most important - so i can see why he thinks this compact design is a better idea. on the detailed photo we can see how clean his work is, but even so that funny drivetrain will be less efficient than a regular one.
There are going to be mechanical losses, and you are going to keep either 90% or 95% of your energy, but that difference isn’t that much. The difference is whether your bike will have a drag factor of 0.12 or 0.1

we'll see, I hope he can beat whittingham.
ps.: 320 gear inches! or 286.

the hub gears aren't serviced, sorry. should be a matter of cleaning the hub, but only if you are competent. the bike is still for sale, but at this point any price is welcome, since i don't have any space for it anymore. pm with offers please. detonics, sorry about that, i really couldn't be bothered to package it.

if you have any way to do it, i would much prefer a bench-mounted one. or a folding witch holds the frame underneath the bottom bracket. the park triopod stuff(evanscycles item 103468) is just dreadful, or not good enough at least, with only 90degree increments of angle.
or, get a used one from a proper workshop(tricky), and fix the top, sliding part to the wall somehow. it should be easy.

hi everyone,
i'm a bike builder in one of the evans stores, crosscountry rider, used to be racing but not this season, witch is a shame, so i'll be back. i just use singlespeeds as a utility, and i'm not even too much into fixed unless i'll move to the track, witch is unlikely at best. my main bike is a wenson master frame with lots of neat bits on it, and it's never as light as i want it to. i have plenty of other bikes too, but none of them are fixed. -
