Looks pretty good! Swappable dropouts is probably the best idea. Even the 11/12 framesets are pretty expensive though and I'd rather have something specifically for roads. But saying that I'm not entirely sure on my budget, just seeing what's out there at the minute.
Almost considering just getting a SS conversion kit for my CAAD but that just seems wrong and I'm not sure that there are actually any reliable mech-style tensioners about.

Currently riding a CAAD8 but am getting sick of the gears always getting gummed up in our persistent bad weather (I ride on back roads which are always muddy), so I'm considering switching to something singlespeed again - used to have a Langster and loved it. However I don't really want to give up the option to run gears again if I change my mind. Really liking the look of the Crosscheck for this as it can run either, but I don't really fancy the idea of steel on a road bike. Plus I have no intentions of riding cx so it's maybe a bit over built for me. I just like the versatility it seems to offer for gearing and mudguard/tyre/wheel options! Wondering if there's anything similar out there but in a lighter aluminium construction?

OK I think it's in the rear wheel now - turns out I can actually hear it without any weight on the bike! I turned it on its back and span the wheel fast and the sound reappeared. Sounds like it may be coming from the rim so maybe there's something in there. All the spokes seem to be tight so I don't think it's a loose nipple.
Not the freewheel as I put it on the fixed side and it still did it. As an aside, how do you guys ride fixed in towns?! It's great when you're at a steady speed on the open road but for moving slow as you would through traffic etc it just feels so awkward.

I'm not sure whether its the front end now, as when I bend down to listen it seems like it might actually be coming from the back. Bouncing it around doesn't seem to make it click. Checked everything and nothing is loose. Happens whether I'm pedalling or not. The speed of the click doesn't seem to change with the speed of the bike. Doesn't seem to make this noise when there's no weight on the bike. So annoying!

Since getting my Langster I've noticed that its always had a clicking sound coming from the front end. Don't really notice it til at speed but then it gets really annoying. I don't think it's in the wheel bearings as it doesn't seem to speed up or slow down when the bike does, just a steady clicking at the same pace. I've checked everything over and can't see anything that would be making this noise - everything seems to be tight. The only thing that moves around is the presta valve stem as it doesn't have a nut to tighten it against the rim, but I taped it down and doesn't seem to make any difference. Can't see any cracks in the frame or fork. The bike is completely stock.
Any ideas? Starting to get really annoyed with it.

So I've just got my first SS road bike and its taking a bit of getting used to, coming from a MTB background. The main "problem" I'm facing at the minute is the narrow drop bars. They're great for sitting down riding, but for getting up hills standing up it feels like I can't get enough side-to-side leverage if that makes sense? With my mtb's ridiculously wide bars I can just swing the bike side to side easily which makes getting the leverage to pedal much easier.
Does my technique need adjusting? I find I can get the best leverage on the hoods, riding on the flat portion of the bar is useless and drops feels so awkard.

anyone have any recommendations for interview techniques? Or good sites? Using google brings up far too many and is kinda overwhelming.
I have never had a interview for a 'proper' job and really want to be prepared as the prospective job is something I have dreamed of doing.
Thanks

Hi,
This may look a bit dodgy as it's my first thread but I'm 100% legit, my main reason for joining the forums was to hopefully find a good deal on my first road bike. Will probably stick around though, seems like a decent forum. For peace of mind my/my sisters ebay is b-rogers123 if you want to check the feedback. Can't really afford gears as I have a max budget of about £250 as I need to buy spds and shoes on top of the bike cost.
I'm not too bothered what I get so long as it's a 54cm frame, has brakes that actually work and has decent wheels/hubs. Would be nice to have rack mounts as well but not essential. If possible under 25lbs. Oh and freewheel not fixed (yet)!
Cheers!

That Kinesis looks perfect, thanks!
The only reason I'm saying no steel is because unless you pay a lot for it, it seems pretty heavy. I considered an On-One before I even got the CAAD but tbh Brant's attitude (as seen on STW etc) puts me right off, he comes across as such a smug prick!
