Forgive me if I appear insensitive to those that have suffered, but if you dig hard enough, you also find articles suggesting that antisemitism has actually decreased under Corbyn. Might sound silly to say, but it is enough to put doubt into my mind as to the true scale of the problem. Please bear in mind, that as a non-Jewish person, I am very much an outsider to this issue.

Clearly I'm coming at this from a less invested viewpoint. No, I'm not Jewish, and as such I have not been affected personally by this issue. The only strong opinion I have on the subject is that any form of racism or prejudice has no place in society or politics.

When it comes to the press, which is all I have to go on, I think it's fair to say Corbyn has been kicked from pillar to post. This makes it difficult for someone with no experience in the matter to pick out real issues where criticism is due from the sensationalist bullshit.

Of course I want to support you or others who have been victims of discrimination, and yes you are right there shouldn't be a burden of proof on victims, but in this case, sadly, the misinformation in the press surrounding Corbyn has made it more difficult for someone like me to work out where the truth lies.

On further reflection. I don't think anyone wants me posting inane reactions to articles. But the manner in which this whole issue has been reported seems, to me at least, to have become a stick with which to beat Corbyn. Yes there are issues with antisemitism and Labour, which is wrong, as it is for any political party. But the evidence that exists just doesn't seem to correlate with the unequal weighting in the press reporting the issue.

I don't think it's controversial to want concrete evidence of rampant antisemitic abuse, as it has been described. I make no apologies for abuse that has occurred either. I'm not even a bloody Labour supporter.

Well, I mean, anyone can post a collection of links, but a long list of links isn't proof of an existence of a problem if the linked articles don't contain any evidence. I read through the articles posted and in that BBC article there is no way to prove, or even an accusation, that the 2,500 Anti-Semitic messages were from her local constituency Labour Party.

Whataboutery is irrelevant to the discussion about whether or not the Labour party has this problem. Labour shouldn't be the only party held to account for it though. No political party should have problems with racism.

Cheers! The original spokes are probably 80% rust so the wheels will need rebuilding. Other than that, just thinking of cleaning down all the components and re-greasing the moving bits. I'm tempted to leave it five speed as original but if it's not too much hassle will change it to single-speed.

The seat post and stem happily came away from the rusty Holdsworth. The awkward removal of the cottered cranks now awaits.
