LFGSS and Microcosm shutting down 16th March 2025 (the day before the Online Safety Act is enforced)
A candle in the wind.
On our own we don't stand a chance, we all know everyone hates cyclists.
But if this law starts affecting SportBall ( our national obsession, like the royal apparently) sites then there could be big trouble. The PM is a SportBall fan and practitioner, the media can't get enough of it, big corps thrown money at it, etc, etc.
So, if these normal people rise up, like they did with that EuroLeague thing then the world turns, exceptions are made and on we go, I hope.
Is that a straw I see?

In other news;
Working a late tonight, so in Parliament Sq. about 10.30pm going home. There was a group of lads on those hire electric scooter, next thing there's a Taxi going along with sparks flying out from under it, making a racket, cab not stopping must of known that something was under his cab being dragged along the road.
The scooter lads come round the corner, shouting aggitated at the cab, one stops to give his mate a lift who is now sans scooter!
It really looked like lads were on scooters and somehow one got trapped under the cab which drove off. Some or all of them playing very silly buggers.

LFGSS and Microcosm shutting down 16th March 2025 (the day before the Online Safety Act is enforced)
Shit! shit! SHIT! This is aweful news.So sad to read.
If there is no way forward; Velocio, whose baby it is, wants to close then everything has a lifespan and this is it, then that's their call and I very very sadly understand, your personal safety and life must come first. No matter how sad bad this is, I'm not wrecking the life of another.Thak you Velocio for all you have done and to all of those who have helped, taught me, made me laugh and been on the odd ride with.
Of course IF there is some last minute comeback and if it includes money, count me in, if there is a way I hope it's found.
Time for a Death Ride. Shall we have a list?

Fair point.
I think they've found their level, can't see them having 50-100 seat looking like a government in waiting. right now they are the great insurgents fighting the and breaking the system. Like the SNP after the 2019 election, but they declined as they came up against the realities of power, or at least of being an MP, having to do actual proper serious grown up politics.

Prediction: The 4 seats have are the Reform high watermark.
They are good for 20%-ish at General Elections but not much more. Under First Past The Post they are going to struggle to win seats.
The Tory General Election campaign isn't going to be the clown like shit show it was in July, simply not that bad, not defending a 14 year record of non achievement, corruption and division.
I do think Reforms' blaming everything on the immigrants is going to wear thin over time, especally if Labour can do sensible stuff and push the topic down the agenda.
I do hope that Reform are the SDP (remember them) of the 21st Centuary and keep Labour in power for a decade.

The Louise Haigh thing shows how ruthless Starmer can be, sack her instantly using the vote on Assisted Dying as very good cover. Hardly any reporting on the loss of a Cabnet Minster because all the attention was on the vote.
I like this in a leader, shows real strength and leadership IMO. Compare to Sunak, who would be lets have an enquiry, it rumbles on for 3 weeks then gets rid of them looking very weak. Starmer has put down a marker here.

Dose shitty sexism abuse etc happen in the Media because everyone is a Freelance?
At some level enough are scared enough that if they are seen as Whistleblowers they'll get Blacklisted and never work again in the industry that the've spent so much time and effort building a Career in. Hence the culure of silence that the predators take advantage of?

A governance structure that looks like that?
