Beautiful example of a witcomb hand built bicycle. This is one of the last bikes built by Witcomb, and as such is a rare item. The bike has superb provence: it was purchased in a charity auction, organised by the Terrence Higgins Trust, and is named on the top tube with both the original purchasers name and "THT 2008". Auction details are here.
The bike is in excellent condition, around 500 miles on it. The paint is in ivory colour, with a band of the "Witcomb purple"(?), and absolutely no scratches/chips/damage. The frame measurements are (as best I can take them) 57cm for top tube and seat tube, measured c-c. Campag groupset, Mirage with Veloce chainset, and Khamsin wheels, but the real value in the bike is in the frame.
Rides beautifully, but it was an impulse buy and I just can't justify keeping it.
£800, collection from Central London or Walthamstow area, will deliver in Waltham Forest area.
Any questions, please pm me!

Hello all!
Someone has offered to sell me their Witcomb steel bike ("hand/custom made"). It's a couple of years old, prob got 1000 miles on it, geared with Campag Mirage kit, VGC, although it does have his name painted on it(!) I have no idea what that would be worth? Can anyone give me an idea?
Also, are Witcomb still in business? Their website doesn't seem to work.

Hi all,
Hope you can help with this. Due to a piffling hand injury, I've been restricted to turbo duties the past couple of weeks. This has led me to thinking about building up a fixed gear bike I can have permenantly attached, was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or experience?
Things I have been thinking about:
- I want to do it cheap, doesn't have to look good
- High 80"s gearing? as I have a tacxx flow with adjustable resistance.
- I want a stiff frame so I can stomp on it when needed
- No need to worry about "comfort" in anything other than the contact points.
I guess my biggest "concern" is buying a cheap frame which will prove be too flexible. I was going to either get one of those Chinese track frames off fleabay, or a heavy (hopefully v cheap) 2nd hand one from here - any thoughts? I guess big and heavy = stiff? This would be my first build btw! Thanks in advance...

Much as I would love Evans to take the win (and I never thought I'd say that), I'm still going contador. Despite not responding to Sanchez / Schleck attack at the end, I still back him to take Andy, and without Frank I don't think there's enough mountains support in Saxobank. Wiggo is toast as well, gutted as I may be for that. Most suprising for me was seeing Basso still hanging in there despite his Giro ride, and seeing LL Sanchez going backwards - very disappointing for me.
