I have a pair of white powdercoated Aerotrack rims, which I am planning on stipping with some Nitromors and leaving them as the bare metal underneath. I am then planning on running brakes on the rims after doing this - will this work? If I dont clearcoat the rims after stripping will they rust? If so then obviously its a no go for the brakes. Also I know that brakes on a rattlecanned rim is a no-go, but how about on a stripped one? Cheers,

Having recently moved to a considerably more hilly part of the country, it is time for me to switch over to single speed as fixed is starting to take its toll.
Basically I am looking to be lazy and see if anyone has an old pair of drops with levers, tape, cables and brakes (and potentially an ahead stem) still attached that I can take off your hands - so I can just plug them in and coast away to freedom (and the ability to stop after riding down large Devonshire hills).
Perhaps you have removed a stock cockpit from an OTP and have it hidden away somewhere in your shed? Maybe you upgraded the lot and have exactly what I need gathering dust?
Thanks in advance.

Anyone got any opinions on whether it would be possible to convert one of these - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/charge-scissor-x-knog-29er-limited-edition-2013/ - into something akin to those super-cool do-it-all BMW Gangstas that I keep seeing on here - with drops, slicks etc.? Would the frame be too tight to ride comfortably long(ish) distances? Any thoughts appreciated. Ta.

Hi there,
Just bought bike but the previous owner had no idea of what make frame it is. Pretty distinctive paint job, so hoping someone might recognise it? Thanks in advance.

though am not sure why its £220 now ?
Does the fact that it was an ABSOLUTE steal when I bought it justify the price in any way? No?
Well, I have also added new tires, saddle, bartape, brake pads and had the bike serviced, which cost me roughly £70 - so adding a extra £40 seemed reasonable, especially considering it is certainly a rare and beautiful bike that is 30years+ - I just assumed that in terms of depreciation I was pretty well covered.
I think it is a fair price. Feel free to disagree. Thanks.

For sale is this beautiful piece of Dutch workmanship, a 1970's Locomotief 'Tour De France' edition - which has served me well but must sadly go because 'too many bikes' etc. etc. you know the story...
I am looking for 190pounds posted - unless you are in Cornwall then you can gladly come and collect for £170.

Trying to work out the origin of this frame, any help at all would be really appreciated. Comments on my rusty nuts are welcome, although I would point out that they are the fault of the previous owner... I think the serial number on the bottom is 80 1181 and I was under the assumption that it is a pretty ancient path or grasstrack frame, although I have nothing really to base that on.

Hi there,
For sale I have a pretty old Azonic DS1 frame with assorted bits. I have had this frame since my early teens and it has sat unused and unwanted (but perfectly safe and happy) for nearly a decade until recently when I decided that I fancied a nippy singlespeed mountain bike to bomb around on. Unfortunately I have too many bikes at the moment and she has to go.
Azonic Ds1 Dual slalomy type aluminum frame. I am going to hazard a guess at 1995 as to its age, but it was one of the first runs of this frame. I think it is 14inch but not sure.
Charge forks
24/7 bars and stem
Big fat Hutchinson Bulldog tyres
New Amitybikeco grips
Is lots of fun for hacking around woods, a bit of light street action or perhaps as a polo bike. Its really nice and fairly light frame that is responsive and good fun.
Unfortunately I never quite mustered up the cash to finish the build in the way I would have liked. As a result of this the back wheel is a 'no-name' with a screw on freewheel and the front wheel is equally as average. The v-brake on the back does not work, which may be as a result of the lever from the parts box - so basically these things would probably need replacing if you wanted to actually ride it properly. The cranks are low-level shimano, so also not great. Regardless of these faults it is a good bike and with a few improvements it could be a great (and almost retro now I guess) bike.
As I live in Cornwall this is going to have to be posted. I would like 150 plus p&p.
Being as I have only really used this forum to buy a bike (thanks RIH) and the occasional bit of abuse to my friend who also posts here, I will be more than happy to make a donations to the forum if the sale is made.
Are the cranks still available? @snoops
