Cool so there decent then. Whay kinda crank and chain do you have? Its just i wanna build a fixie using a peugeot frame and havent a clue what crank to buy or chain. I no i want 18t on the wheels and 48t on crank.
I have sugino supermaxy cranks 144BCD with a 47T chainring
looks a bit like this, but i think the BCD is different http://bmxmuseum.com/forsale/5980
I paid about £20 for mine off ebay, I personally wouldn't spend too much on really new modern looking cranks. They may not fit the look of the frame, and some would consider it a waste of money if youre putting them on an old peugot frame, but its up to you.
My chainring was 3/32 off the forum for £3 so i had to get 3/32 chain and sprocket to match. The Izumi track chains are really good value, and 3/32 thickness is better if your chainline is a little out. Most singlespeed specific cranks generally use 1/8, but ive had no problems having to use 3/32.

48/18 is a pretty good ratio as a 'ride anything gear' IMOi would advise shopping around for parts that fit the look of your frame, good luck

wheels i was thinking ofI have those wheels, but in silver, i think they were great value
i also have the same frame with the orange/red rainbow fade thing, but the grey bits are white on mine
good stuff :) -

Sorry I did the route marking, we put three arrows there and at the left @ TJ before it yesterday morning, last night they were gone so we replaced them again, this morning when I route checked it they were gone again so replaced them again, I know the broom wagon had to replace them again mid morning, Tonight when I took them down there was only one left there.
Unfortunately somebody up there does not like our ride. You could always read & check it against the route sheet ;)
i do commend the effort all the marshals put in, apart from that blip which is now apparant to be someone else's doing, the route marking was excellent, so thanks

was anyone else in the group of about 25 riders that got sent down hogtrough hill at the very end of the route instead of turning right down grays road?
i was quite pissed off to have to cycle back up hogtrough because of a lack of signposting, nearly sent me over the 5 hour mark too!
great event though -
^ paint is cracking and peeling on them doors, and the leaves could do with sweeping up too.
If riding it, even whilst waiting to find the right bar tape, suggest you plug the bar ends as they can cause a right mischief to you otherwise.
Does look quite spinny but you'll soon get a feel for the gear you'd like.
i'm considering getting 48T but i live round lots of hills, i'll try it out.
thanks, i did get a bit of a whack from the bar end which hurt my knee -

just finished my first build
bought the frame for £33
all i need to complete it is a dia compe bmx brake lever, don't like only one drop lever
and some bartape
might get a bigger chainring too. -

I agree, the 'risers' are rising in the wrong direction
