That is interesting and exactly what we can't really afford to happen, especially on the north side of Torres Del Paine which has less facilities.
What do you make of this - http://www.blacks.co.uk/equipment/010165-force-ten-mtn-2-man-tent-olive.html

I'm hoping to tap into the wisdom of the forum for some tent advise.
I'm planing a 5 month trip to south america starting in patagonia and finishing in Colombia.
We want to do the full circuit at Torres Del Paine and want to camp. It will be summer so should not get much below zero even on a cold night but I am worried about the wind.
We would like a light tent but it has to be able to stand up to strong winds. I was looking at the ordos but think this is too lightweight as does the chap at Alpkit I just chatted to (he suggested the kangri).
Has anyone done it or have any advise please.

More than I expected and more than I got last time.

Balham Hill heading south just after clapham south tube at the top of the hill before heads down. Shaved ape in a white concrete mixer lorry P012 BVE over takes 4 cyclists at speed causing driver in oncoming lane to sound horn and said lorry to edge in towards the kerb.
I hand gestured which he must have seen as he beeped when I passed at next set of lights.
Wound down window and I tried to tell him that he was driving dangerously I wish I could say a constructive exchange followed but the ape thought his driving was beyond reproach.
Reported to roadsafe and i'm charging up the go pro tonight, these cunts have to be stopped.

Looks like this is about to go cheap - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pinarello-Galileo-Frame-Mira-Fork-Carbon-Seat-Post-/261003033131?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item3cc4fe3a2b
But i've been wrong about that before....
Thank you for all the advice given.
The coleman does look like a bargain however reading reviews on amazon for the coleman my reservations are that it will be difficult to put up in high winds and that it may not perform well in shifting winds as one side is designed to be facing the wind.
The options are bewildering but as ever you can only get two of the ideal three things - strong, light, cheap.
Given we are going into the unknown somewhat here and there is a certain fear factor cheap is probably the one that will have to give most. This looks a decent middle ground - http://www.outdoorgear.co.uk/Terra-Nova-Voyager-2-sku51125201.asp?gclid=CNbal4HUvs8CFRAz0wodheEE-A
That said Andy_k I will look more into hiring a tent there as that might be a good option.
