You are used to reaching out with your fingers and pulling back to stop, regardless of what bars you're using the hand action remains the same, you're just grabbing for the brakes then instantly thinking "oh yeah, drops..." then moving to the tops.
Sounds about right, tbh
Didn't think this thread would stir up this much interest, considering how brakeless riding seems to be accepted freely in most sites i've seen to do with fixed gear riding.

I recently swapped some narrow riser bars for some Charge Bowl track bars, and for some reason, every now and then I reach to use brakes like the ones in the pic above... when in fact I have a single dirty harry lever near the stem.
Luckily this hasn't got me into too much bother yet.
Have I tapped into the ancient collective cycling psyche, making me have this odd impulse??
Or do I just need to focus more when I'm riding?
I have never used drop bars before, so this isn't some weird muscle memory thing.

vs Blender[/ame]Will it blend? That is the question...
It's not just me then.
Did you maim yourself or anyone else during this momentary lapse as suggested was likely by early posters?!
Sorry about the pic of the fragrent Ms Moser, I thought the moderators (according to a message) had looked through the post before allowing it onto the board.
