I havn't read this whole thread so forgive me if someone has said this already, but High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is an extremely effective and time efficient way of losing weight. Basically instead of doing a long slow session of cardio, you do a series of short cycles of maximum exertion exercise (e.g. sprinting or on an exercise bike) with rest periods in between. An example would be sprinting for one minute, then resting for 75 seconds and repeating this 8x. Each session takes about 20 mins and if you do it 3x per week you will experience an effect equal to 5 HOURS (!!!!!) of steady state (regular) cardio. It really is very effective and is thought to work by boosting your metabolism for about a day after training so you burn more calories over all.
I really reccommend it. look at the wikipedia page and try out the Tabata or Little method.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-intensity_interval_training#Tabata_Method

Hi,
I'm looking for a vintage bike to tidy up and convert to single-speed/fixed-gear or one that's already been converted. Peugeot or Raleigh would be good but if you have something else suitable that's cool too. I'm not too fussed about the condition, if it's tidy already then great but I'm happy if it needs some work doing.
I'm in London so if I can pick it up here that'd be ideal but courier from elsewhere would be fine. Looking to spend £100 to £200.
Cheers,
Hugh

Hi, apologies if I ask something stupid but I'm new to the custom fixie game! Really glad I found this thread cos I've decided to convert an old peugeot for my next bike. I built a dirt jump bike years ago but new to the fixie stuff so I have a couple of questions about flip-flop wheelsets. (decided to go flip flop because I want to try fixie but would like a freewheel option if i dont get on with it)
If i get a flip flop rear wheelset like one of these:

What else do I need on the back wheel? A sprocket for either side and a (BMX) freewheel? I've not heard great things about create, but good value with tyres included.
I'll take photos as I go along as payment for your advice! Hopefully I'll have a nice bike at the end of it!
Yeah they're Weinemann dp18s. Didn't polish them up, they came out of the box like that but with transfers. Got them because they're cheap but I'm pleased with them so far.
