i love my bike, i first joined this form when it was stolen and through the help of this forum recovered it, wouldn't mind having it repaired and waiting for a repaint - and phew thought you were going to say a couple hundred quid to get it fixed!!
work in se1, live in dalston, but will travel for the right repairer! :)

Hey Guys
Wondering if anyone could help, been searching around the site to see if I could find any decent frame repairers - will travel, but first I need to know exactly what is wrong with my bike, I have contemplated ringing various bike shops and saying 'the thinggy that holds the thinggy to my bike has snapped off' but didn't think it would get me too far....
....I believe this is a braze-on front derailleur and it has snapped off the frame, is that right or have i just taken a load of words and merged them together?
thank you!

We actually have our own hairdresser here on the forum!!! Lonestar. She's brilliant. cuts somewhere in primrose hill (probably an exorbitant price) but will happily cut at home (yours?) for about £20! WIN.
She cut mine (curely) and a gf's (straight) hair a couple of weeks ago and she is GOOOOD. We were both so stoked. I highly recommend her.
and a recommendation from me re hairdressers does not come easily....
: )actually I take my last post back Lonestar sounds like an epic win!

Hi there, can anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced, hairdresser in the Beauvoir area? Or indeed Walthamstow. Have had far too many hair disasters at the hands of London hairdressers who seem completely baffled by long, naturally straight, fine hair.
Cheers
Clairedo you mean beauvoir area hoxton? 10 gales do really good haircuts (dry cuts) for around £15 in Bethnal Green or Aqfin on commercial street, although they are a bit pricey....

a sleeveless short black dress, with a hood and pockets. I think its meant to be for yoga or something, but I just stick it over leggings and it's perfect for summer riding. I think it was either £12 or £14.
ohhhhhhhh a hood and pockets! that sounds immense, i'm going to uniqlo at lunch today to check it out :D

I rode down Mile End Rd a few weeks ago and cyclist did something really daft down the side of a bus. When I raised the issue (she) pulled off her headphones with that WTF do you want vibe. Before I could finish my brief point she put them back on and continued riding.
It left me wishing I could hand her an image of the horror site where the cyclist had died on tower Bridge Rd/crucifix Lane to shock her with rather than have her look at me like like she stepped in something and practically blank me.For the first time ever today I raised an issue with a cyclist, a girl did the exact same thing this morning on tottenham court road, the bus was turning right and she pulled up the right hand side of it as it was pulling away.
I rode up to her and told her not to do it again, unfortunately I actually witnessed the accident and aftermath on victoria park road round about a couple of months ago and am still very edgy and angry when I see people take unnecessary risks.
She looked so angry with me, I asked her if she'd ever seen anyone killed by taking a risk like the one she did and she just rolled her eyes at me, I finished by telling her that I had and didn't want to see another person killed in front of me this year. she was pissed at me sigh

And what about the people who ride without ever looking behind themselves?? I followed a woman (and this one does seem to be a women's thing) for about a mile this morning; she was signalling and weaving her way past the cars but never once looked behind her. I would have brought it to her attention. But I was behind her. So didn't exist.
Eye contact, ftw
I stopped at a light once and a woman pottled past me as I was taking off she pulled straight in and nearly take me out because she didn't look over her shoulder, I alerted her to my presence and she shouted at me that I shouldn't be on the inside! DOH!
