quite new the bike world and i have been building my own classic road bike (slowly) for the past few months. However, started to think that i may need a beater to travel to work to in the wetter months (I live in manchester) so most of the time.

Can anyone advise me, I looking to spend around £200, it can be second hand and im not so much interested in offers from people more what bikes to be looking at for that sort of price range ?

has to be ideal for wet weather and reliable

HAHA just realised that, no the crank wasn't attached i was just leaning it against it to take the pic. (Also explains the angle of the crank arm)

The bottom bracket needs chasing out as i think the powercoat paint has made it impossible to get the BB back in.

dont go to GHB for your paint job doing, get it done at North Manchester powder coating, costs like half the price.

Works is moving out of town, so decided im gonna bike there, didnt want an off the shelf bike so picked up a Raliegh lenton 51 - reynolds 531, for 16 quid !

Was in abit of a state, but working on it every night - on a budget so slow going but so far so good !

With bottom brackets the diameter of the one i have installed now is around 44mm ? but sheldon brown only gives shell widths @ 68mm am i missing somthing here
