Alright,
quite new the bike world and i have been building my own classic road bike (slowly) for the past few months. However, started to think that i may need a beater to travel to work to in the wetter months (I live in manchester) so most of the time.
Can anyone advise me, I looking to spend around £200, it can be second hand and im not so much interested in offers from people more what bikes to be looking at for that sort of price range ?
has to be ideal for wet weather and reliable
any help is appreicated

Just thought id show mu current project - it was a complete mess when i bought it (as you can see)
Still in a working state but im getting there, didnt want to buy a finished product so slowly building my own bike (with limited funding). Restored the existing BB,headest found an original crank
But its more about the process anyway ! taking me a long time, but getting there
Sorry about the shitty i-phone picks - all i had !

and im not sure it will be staying on, the bike needs a paint job - just sanding it down at the min.
Got a Shimano golden arrow group set to go on it as well. got the original crank but not sure it really fit to go back on - cleaned it up but the chrome is coming off.
Anyone know anywhere to get re chroming done in manc?

ok ok, so now i just gotta get the length right so the chain clearance is ok, right?
also ga2g, i havent upgraded anything, i have bought the frame, and im just starting my project right now, got a shimano - golden arrows group set.
So guess im still deciding what to go for, it doesnt have to be super light just dont want a "heavy" bike, as its for comuting everyday
