That route to Southend looks good. I think I've done some of it when I've ridden there before. I have to chop my seatpost tomorrow, so if that all goes well then I should be in.

Who is in for Monday and where/what time should we meet?

I'd be keen for Southend, it's been 3-4 years since I've been there. On the Monday if the weather cooperates?

18 panels are going to be delivered to HH today. @punkture is going to take the delivery at HH, the panels are going to be left near one of the shipping containers, wherever there is space.

Is anyone free tomorrow Sunday for some lifting and rebuilding? I can do 9:30am to 11:30am, might be able to negotiate it until midday.

First part will involve lifting the panels into the centre track, second bit will involve rebuilding the supports into the new panels and the stanchions, third bit hanging back up the net.

The panels are 18mm with a black plastic film surface on them, which looks pretty good in terms of waterproofing, I don't think we will have to do much with them. They are recycled from a housing development building site exterior panelling in Woolwich, some of them have text on them, might be something like Barratt Homes.

If people are free tomorrow to rebuild that would be great. Even if someone is free in the morning to help me lift the new panels into the centre area that would be a good start on the work.

Also keen to plan a ride for the late May bank holiday weekend as K & k are going on a boys weekend. Preferably the Sunday 24 or Monday 25th. Southend/Windsor/Cambridge/somewhere else?

(dubkev here) ^^ yes it was 3-0. We went 1-0 up in the 1st and 3rd game, and were winning the third game for most of it i think, but couldnt stop the onslaught at the end, mj had superior speed and stamina. Louis was reffing (cheers) but I think Dan has the scores? There was probably a 3 goal gap in each game at the end. I definitely felt old by the end of the 2nd game. I dont feel too bad though, approaching 40 and almost keeping up with young lads in their 20s :-) Good games though, definitely shows the importance of playing games like that at HH rather than Newington, a fence would have been a nightmare.

I said to Vit a few weeks back that I'd zero inclination / funds / permission / time to travel for tournaments, so him and Phil have a new young charge lined up for the summer season. All to be revealed soon I think, in the 'poloverse' thread. Any guesses who it is?

Steph - you just rode right past me on Grange Road (I was on pavement) so it turns out taking the train or riding back would've taken me the exact same amount of time!

So I finally looked up where the golf is and I am getting a bit nervous about how far a ride it is to do fixed (my knees are not what they used to be!) both ways...

I know I've never made it out yet, but can't do Tuesdays as that is the day for track sessions at Velodrome for OH. I vote for alternating!

I just did an hours ride to pick up freecycle stuff and it made me feel so much better that I have more impetus to make it out for these rides.
