If you leave a job before the ride-to-work bike is paid off, the amount that you haven't paid off is deducted from your final salary payment, the kicker being that whilst normal payments are deducted form your gross wage and so save a large pile on tax and NI, a final salary deduction is taken from your net wage, after tax and NI, which is a bit like a kick in the balls, if your balls are directly linked to your bank account.

So, I was gonna convert my road bike after some prick nicked both wheels, but it's got vertical dropouts and from what I can gather that isn't going to have it. Don't really want to start building something from scratch, and I'm waaaay to skint to buy something from actual shops, so if anyone's looking to get rid of a nice serviceable bike, give me a shout.
Ideally it'd have a fixed/free hub cause I have precisely no experience of fixed riding and the option of slacking off every now and then would be lovely.
Cheers

NIels - RE: the Kryptonite cable:
I had a nice sturdy D-lock for frame and one wheel, and the cable for the other wheel. I went and left my bike with D-lock through just the frame and the cable through both wheels. Cable got snipped clean through and both wheels gone. Probably not worth buying the cable unless it's literally for five minute stops.

Hi all,
Just a quick hello. I'm Tim. I don't so much ride a single-speed bike as a no speed bike, as I returned to my bike today to find it missing both it's wheels, and therefor all those gear things that attach to the back wheel. Rather than getting annoyed, I'm taking this as a sign from above - having been toying with the idea of converting it to a fixie for a while now. It's almost like those thieving bastards were helping me out. Almost...
So the project begins. However...I know almost nothing about this. might be asking for a few pointers.
Cheers
