Fork crown similar as mentioned:

@Nbenja3 the headlugs look a little like Jack sibbit spearpoints, but the frame number would appear to negate this. Nice frame though!

@Nbenja3 is there a number stamped under the fork crown, or non drive rear dropout ?

Just a quick snippet of the programmes, articles and photos I picked up when I got hold of my '48 Sibbit. Believed to have come from Jack's niece Dorothy and her Father Stanley.

The race programmes are a great insight, with adverts from local (Manchester) builders, Berry, Sibbit, Denison, Stenton, as well as national & other adverts from Carlton, Soens, adverts for bread and breweries etc.
Many famous names in the entries for races, with some entries filled in. If you know of a local cycling hero from this era, chances are, they are in these.

Shakedown ride - Nothing rattled, squeaked or fell off. Which was nice.
1948 Jack Sibbit - VCC members can see a little of its history.

(Crap phone) sneak peek pic of almost finished '48 project. Built in Manchester by olympic medalist and 20's/30's track star. Still some fettling to do.

Free for collection: Absolute rat bastard Peugeot - Maybe for spares / polo / pub.
Currently filthy, used for commuting the last 5+ years - Knackered.
58CM C-C seat and top tube. ~84 / 85 stand over.
90's minty green with Shimano 14 speed indexed gears

Bad bits:
Slight bulge in seat-tube at top, maybe that's why saddle swivels a bit, but it's NEVER dropped in the last year since i noticed it.
Needs new front wheel - Worn
Needs new rear wheel - Blown two spokes, out of true
Needs new rear tyre - Worn
Needs new pedals - Cheap and worn
Needs new chainrings (Stronglight) - Worn

OK bits:
Has OK ~120mm quill stem and handlebars
New-ish Clarke type brake shoes (removable pad type)
~9 Month old specialized saddle
Fluted seat post - probably some weird size
~12 Month old Tortec rack fitted with fittings for frames with no brazed on top mounts

It is rideable and I've ridden it in the current state for the last six months over winter. If I could be bothered I'd part it out and make a couple of quid, but a long term project and new bike means it has to go, and if it's of any use, I'd rather it not just be scrapped.

It can be collected from near Hyde Road bus depot or Ardwick McDonalds...

Probably common knowledge now, but outdoor jumble at Velodrome Sunday 20th August from ~10AM.

I'll be going, got a couple of early bits to sell on to fund painting my '48 project. Hopefully the weather will be fine as usual, otherwise it will be in the velodrome foyer.

New:

Old: Salford Quays, close to the IWM.

I went with a pocket full of cash for some nice vintage (40s/50s) wheels, pedals, handlebars and anything else interesting that cropped up. Despite getting there early I didn't really see anything I fancied, apart from the 32/40 NOS rims somebody snaffled just before me. I Left with two bottom bracket grease nipples.

I prefer the trouser leg Brooks saddle cover, but yeah, she is a classy beast!

It's pretty interesting how many bridges around central Manchester use that same tile pattern.
I'll have to ask the question as the M12 graffiti appears to have washed off / faded. Was it under the railway arch on Fairfield Street, heading towards Piccadilly ?
