(Guy's hospital) Omg... sorry mate.... I saw 3 kids (1 fat black kid and 2 white kid); day ago; are riding on a black and a sliver one. There is also one white girl there too. They were smoking. I def recognise the black bike as I was looking at it and think it looks pretty nice. They were just coming out from the park near leather market and walk towards guys street.
I will keep my eye on it as well as I believe these kids are all living around in this area. There are quite a few dodgy kid lately in this area. I know some of them always hang around the alley/ carpark between cluny place and decima street and also the park outside cluny place. But not sure are they the bike thief. They normally hang around at early morning like 7 or 8, otherwise 6-8 in the evening. (not sure in the afternoon as I am at work) But before approach them, do get some back up as they are quite a big group.

I saw some video clips in youtube that a team of ppl cycling along the highway (may be the one going to tuen mun). But it is in early morning and looks more like a cycling team practising for race. Also I saw lots of family cycling along the road next to the main highway to airport.
Occassionally there are ppl on HK island cycling along the tram way. But I think it is quite dangerous if you manage to get your wheel stuck in the tram track.
Generally, most of the things happen early morning or very late at night in the city.there was a velodrome near Wan chai and happy vallery long time ago. wonder is it still there....

UPDATE : had another look at the 9 bikes that have gone up on gumtree today, all from the same phone number - a bit of detective work shows it's that Ashley guy again. Seems he was busy this weekend. Id say that Plug is definitely nicked.

I think they still do ride once in a while. But HK, I just hate people there treat everything as fashion or trend. They put little interest or passion into something but instead showing off. I think it would be better for you to join a proper cycling club when you get back.

Pedestrians have priority at zebra crossings, at light controlled crossings if they began crossing during a green phase and at road junctions when they are going in the direction of the major road.
If you hit or almost hit a pedestrian while cycling on a road you could be prosecuted for dangerous or reckless cycling, or manslaughter. Under common law pedestrians have the right to use the queen's highway except where there is a prohibition (Motorways, tunnels etc). It is always a good idea not to run into pedestrians, especially the deaf/blind ones who are texting while plugged into an ipod while crossing the road.
In the Royal Parks the 20mph speed limits apply to cyclists, soon they will have the power to issue fixed penalty notices, that means you are more likely to be done but you will have a lower fine and will not have to pay court costs.
Totally agree. I always stop at zebra crossing when I see someone crossing. But one morning, being a pedestrian myself, I got a mad woman shouting at me and telling me to say thank you to her because she stopped at the zebra crossing for me. What an idiot.

I actually need to thank foffa. I bought the vintage bike a year ago and it fell apart slowly. I was fixing bits and pieces. And eventually, I gave up and built a completely new bike. Outcome: I trained myself up as a bike mechanics....
