Also saw a forum cap riding through brockwell park down the hill friday eve looking like he was on the lookout for someone but saw you too late to shout, we were sitting right by the path at the top of the hill with lots of bikes scattered around us.
might've been me. I saw a big pack of nice looking bikes on the bank nearest Herne Hill station. was actually looking for Velocio et al!

[not spotted related]I feel like I should've learnt this by now but is there some kind of trick to dealing with this (beyond a heavier bike)? Today I was swept into the path of oncoming traffic on Tower Bridge and last week I was blown from primary in the middle lane on London Bridge into the left turning lane (I wasn't intending to turn left so this wasn't particularly helpful).
I notice there often seems to be a strong wind blowing south up the bridge from the tower?
I guess if you are being blown by the wind, you try to follow the general path but deviate at the same time. Like when you put your hand out a car window. Or sailing. or something.

Maybe it's just me, but experiencing many more drivers, particularly black cab drivers, deliberately pulling up into the middle of the ASL at the lights. Often when occupied by cyclists - pulling up in the ASL just behind them.
The reply when I object to them doing this is universally 'I'll stop when you cyclist caants stop jumping red lights' etc, but I don't see what that has to do with me?

Asked someone in lower clapton with a spotted frame if it was this: http://www.mypedals.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Colnago-Pista.jpg late last night, but it weren't. Nice frame.

I saw that as well. Why do you name a bike brev? Is it a misconception that its some kind of campagnolo brand? it means patented in italian.
nuts
I saw one today too. The owner took it into a bakery and ordered a salt beef bagel. He seemed more proud than self-conscious of the fact he'd brought his bike into a bakery.

I thought I'd take advantage of a day off work and head out into Essex - I'm in Stratford - on the road bike.
He kindly accepts my apology and pulls the 'bat' up from the lap of the blonde sitting in the passenger seat. It's a brown leather knife sheath about a foot long, he takes out a hunting knife and leans over pointing it at me. He says that under the circumstances he will ignore what I had said, but on any other day he'd of 'cut me into little fucking pieces pal'.
He leans back, reverses out and drives off.
Nice chap.

Guy on something fixed and red with bullhorns heading towards the end of Old St, being too cool for school by riding slowly / posing (if gracefully), blocking those behind you from going left through the junction on green. Which then goes red and I have to stop because you were so slow. Then you jump through two sets of reds with crossing peds. sort it ahrrt

Park Tools TM-1 spoke tension meter in vgood condition - £SOLD
It still has the box, instructions and conversion table (these are well worn).
Unfortunately, the little spoke width gauge has torn free of the table and is missing (but you probably already know your spoke width or can easily measure with a calliper or adjustable spanner + ruler etc).
Well used but still decent Silver Thomson Elite Stem ±10° 120 x 26mm - SOLD
No major dinks, faceplate is pretty clean, main body is lightly marked (tried to show this in the photo). Comes with Thomson bag and assembly manual.
Based Haggerston/Kingsland Road most of the time. Will post if you can pay by paypal.

This evening, waiting to go straight on at the junction of Commercial Rd and Whitechapel. The ASL is full and the left lane is already moving, so I wait two cars back. Some guy in 100% lycra (including a hood?) and an expensive road bike with wide bars forces way through tiny gap, past other riders to get to the front. When clear, amazingly manages to crash at low speed into an identically clad city type next to him and drops some crap off his bike into the road. Proceeds to hunt around on the ground, paying no attention to the fact the lights have changed and 20 cars are waiting on him.
Patience, innit?

And I'm also not too sure that cripple is unacceptable. It's still used to describe roads and their blockages etc. maybe you just can't refer to people as cripples.
Yeah, crippling or being crippled is not offensive. It's tagging people as 'a cripple' which is offensive.
Calling someone a 'deaf twat' for using perfectly acceptable language is not remotely cool.

Apparently me causing a scene and disturbing other road users by shouting in the middle of the road was of more concern to them then a car chasing a cyclist illegally in the bus lane while clearly not paying attention to the road by leaning his head out of the window to shout obscenities.
Audi A5? come off it, you can't expect police in central to stop a man in a A5. He's probably a wealthy white man.
Sorry to hear of your incident, though.

I'm afraid circumstances beyond my control meant that a skid was not available at that time. please try again later.
