I'm moving out of London early next year and I'm not in a position to take my Bullitt with me. So it's up for sale.
I've had such a laugh owning this bike. It's handled shopping and commuting duties and I've ridden it on the Dun Run, and taken a trip up Swains Lane a few times as well.
It's an early model frame in bright pink. Spec includes:
SLX 1x11 groupset with a 42t cassette and 34t chainring
Shimano flat/SPD pedals
Wheelset: Halo rims, with a Shutter Precision dynamo front hub, and a Hope rear.
Swept handlebar with Velo Orange grips
Front light is a B&M unit, rear is a SON - both of them have standlights
Aluminium lockable box with gas lifts for the lid. This can be removed by undoing 4 bolts. Box sides have reflective vinyl detailing£1,950 collected from North London

Hello everyone, the last of the bikes left with a new owner this morning. The sales conducted here, and a couple of others, have raised just under £4,000. That's brilliant.
Everyone on the forum who's been in touch with me has been super-supportive. It means a lot to me, loads of people have new bikes to ride, and we get to help out people who need it.
So thank you all, you lovely bunch of humans.

If I recall, Alfine 11 has a maximum torque limit that if you exceed invalidates the warranty. Alfine 8 doesn't, which gives some indication of relative robustness. Also, I think what 11 gives you is taller gears compared to 8 and that's not what you want, you want more low-speed twiddling gears.
I like Alfine 8, used it with no real issues across a couple of bikes. However, in the end I went for an 11-spd SLX setup on my Bullitt. It's been faultless, absolutely love it. The gearing is perfect for my needs and the combination of MTB braking and wide grippy tyres means it stops incredibly well.

This is the final item I have for sale from my bike collection. Everything else has now been bought by forum members which is fab.
If you want to know the background to my charity sales it's here https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/361897/
I bought this off a friend and renovated it. I brazed on a new cable routing option for a hub gear, got it powder coated and applied new decals, then took it off for adventure. I did an off-road coast to coast and Mountain Mayhem on it, and it's a lot of fun. The bike can variously be built up as rigid or a hardtail. Flat bar or drop bar, and comes with a set of Surly single-speed wheels.
Full spec is:
Karate Monkey 29er frame (medium, I'm 175cm tall), with rigid Surly fork and Rockshox 30 Gold TK 100mm travel 29er suspension fork.
Alfine 8-speed hub rear wheel with XT front and Mavic A319 rims, with Schwalbe Racing Ralph tyres
Alfine flat bar shifter and Deore M615 brakes
Hope headset
Crank Brothers bar
Ritchey stem and post
Charge Spoon saddle
XT SPD pedalsFork is in excellent shape and comes with shock pump and service spares (seals etc)
You also get a Salsa Woodchipper flared off road drop bar and Salsa Stem with Cane Creek brakes, Avid cable calipers, and a J-Tek bar end shifter if you want to go drop bar. It's an easy swap over process.
Finally the original KM wheels, which are Surly hubs and Salsa Rims with a pair of WTB tyres.
This is quite a bit of stuff, so I'd really prefer if someone could pick it up in person from North London. I could arrange UK shipping, but it'd be a bit pricy I suspect.
I'm looking for £500 for everything. Thanks!

Had my first jab yesterday at the Business Design Centre in Angel. I think it was their first full day of distributing the Moderna mRNA vaccine, which is what I had. Dolly Parton put up $1m of funding when they were developing it, and at one point they were actually playing 'Jolene' over the audio system :D
I'm sure that my DNA will now be reprogrammed to give me a profound appreciation for county & western and bluegrass.

Just thought I'd give an update on the sales so far
All of the three bikes I built have either been collected or are on hold, the Rourke frame set should be getting a new owner tomorrow, and my builder took a shine to the CX bike. That means the only one left is the Karate Monkey. I haven't posted that up yet, as a couple of people are talking to me about it.
In total so far the sales have raised over £3,000 for charity, which is brilliant. I can't thank everyone enough for their kind words and generosity. It's great.

There are a couple of people with dibs, so I can't say until that resolves.
As for tyres, it'll take a Vittoria Open Corsa 25mm on a 24mm external rim fine. 28mm might be a squeeze for the fork as much as the frame - I'd say it would be very dependent on the specific tyre/rim combo. The 25mms feel pretty plushy on the frame, that's how I ran the original build.

Bit of a specific request, but if you have one of these framesets in vgc then I'd be very interested in taking it off your hands. I currently ride the original caliper version, and I'm looking to move over to the disc version.
Thanks!
