So main electricity would burn out that switch? Maybe that's why the person who built the one in my photo, bypassed it completely.
Mine also has two wires going to it - bolted onto separate places on the shell, which then feed to the switch.
There appears to be a space for a large battery too, which presumably means the light can stay on if you're not moving.
In that case, it should be fairly straightforward to drill a hole in the back of the lamp and add a mains type bulb holder and a switch, either on the lamp, or somewhere else. I'm thinking of using old TA crank arms, so the light can pivot - then it's just a case of finding a suitable base... -
I want to make my own version of this desk lamp, using an old Miller dynamo lamp.
I would like to use the switch located on the light unit (rather than add another switch on the base - like the photo).
This is the lamp I have and its innards...
Has anyone done this themselves or perhaps seen something online that would help?

Yep, all working fine - although it’s already asked me if I want to update to 11.0.2!
As for speed etc. my phone doesn't seem to be running any slower. Only niggle (and this was happening anyway), is trying to play any videos (mostly on fb) whilst on the move, even with '4G' they take FOREVER to load, so most of the time I don't bother.

Can anyone recommend an online backup/storage service? I currently use Dropbox, but it keeps a copy of the file on each computer. Perhaps I could use it a bit smarter - like opt out of some of the folders and only access them online? I also have a lot of images (50gb) in iPhoto that I'd like to backup and clear them off my laptop.

The iMac seems to have fixed itself!? Turned it back on last night - firstly in recovery mode, but later it started up normally - first time in weeks!
I've run as many tests as I can and they are coming back OK, so might go for the SSD upgrade - I've seen the tutorials online, but are there any recommendations out there? -
