This is for a Dolan Preffisio so somewhere in between. It's a pretty agricultural bike so I'm not going to be spoiling any aesthetics. Just looking for something in proportion, and that I might end up using on other nicer bikes in the future.

What flat pedals would look ok on a road bike? I've only ever used fairly chunky MTB ones on flat bar bikes but reckon they'd look out of proportion on a road bike

Ok, might just ride my gravel bike over winter. Although has 40mm Vittoria terrano dry tyres and wondering if the dry means I'll lose grip at some point.

Is it still best to change to winter specific tyres if you're running tubeless?

Hoping for some advice. I find my zambelan walking boots the most supportive and comfortable shoes I own. I just feel strong wearing them. So, job redundancy means I've got some long service leave to use plus a need to get out and do a decent amount of riding. I'm looking for recommendations for mid winter locations for a week or so riding. Sun, warmth, scenery and nice roads. All I can think of is Canary islands but would be great to be steered to any other places I should be thinking about?

I'm not a massive fan of flying for a variety of reasons but I guess over the course of a life there are times when a flight is OK. So, I could look at pretty much anywhere, as I feel like I'm in one of those life moments.

Was stiff straight after joining it. I think the bit of the chain that it joins onto, and which was where I split it, was slightly bent. The force of pedalling for a couple of k's seems to have loosened it though

Tried it but didn't work.

Stiff chain links. Had a stiff link which I ended up removing and replacing with a quick link. It was initially a bit stiff still. After a couple of k's it seems to be fine. Safe to ride?

Just received a Cambrian. Looks good quality and should be way more practical than my barley. Comes with these additional straps but can't tell what they're for. Anyone know?

Ok so I have some play in the rear wheel which I suspect is the bearings needing replacing so think I may as well get a service as I think the bearings aren't that easy to access for the home mechanic.

On the 2 brakes point - I prefer it to as I worry if the front fails on a descent. Using legs to slow down isn't going to work.

Should you use the same general shape of orthotics in running shoes as in cycling shoes or walking shoes. I use Superfeet green in my walking shoes/ boots and G8 in my cycling shoes
