Has anyone been to watch the women’s Tour de France in person? I’m curious how it is as it’s a maybe for us during the summer holidays, maybe see it a couple of times near the start with a mid stage watch and a start and or finish.
We went to the vuelta which was great but relatively low key caravan and all the riders dived straight in the bus and were off within minutes.
Worth dragging kids to or not? -

Thoughts on new kits as they arrive?
Inneos looks basically the same but for some reason they have white helmets for some riders, maybe just for training.
Cofidis I’m not sure I like just cos Cofidis should be red and white.
Lidl is pretty good I think, it’s growing on me each year.
Soudal quickstep whatever they are now are busy ironing a few more sponsors onto their jersey.
Q36.5 to have a white rose on their back?
Will anyone do a dramatic change? -

Yeh I assume that’s a given on any cheap full sus but given the hammering the boys give their bikes I’m open to the idea that most moving parts need some love regularly!
I’m going to hire a Saracen downhill bike when we go to Antur Stiniog as I’ve never ridden one and I can see that will open the door to more dh bikes! -
Not new kit I’m sure, some is even 26 inch but that’s ideal for looking for stuff for my lad who’s still on smaller bikes. This Saracen isn’t ancient and it’s well under £1k which makes it feel like something he could have if he keeps riding downhill regularly.
Some of the e trail bikes on show today are ridiculous £££, I stopped googling those! -
Am I missing something or are downhill bikes fairly reasonable second hand? After a day at our local downhill track I just had a curious look and it seems what I thought would be £1000s worth of bike could be around £1k or less.
I assume they’ve have a tough life but some look cosmetically ok.
Am I missing something or are they just low tech, small resale market? -

We’ve had some big help locally from Josh Robinson ground work who lent John the 3 ton tipper that’s been used to move most of the material across the park, Wright Hire lent him a newer digger than he has and Farmer John has done at least 10 days of free work on this now, what a champion.
So far no issues with park users or the car park and we now have Harris fencing round all the new features whilst they settle and are finished. -
Yeh sorry lots I forgot to post.
More MOT came and got shifted across the park, last few bits levelled out and weeds cleared, and now we’ve started trail building which is going really well.
Last weekend we had the first volunteer work day rather than just John and his machines.
Top surface has also arrived last Friday ready to start laying down this weekend by a few people whilst the more skilled builders carry on laying out the last features and levelling.
Finally got my son digging a bit last week so he’s well pleased that he’s built a bit of trail himself and moved about 2 tons of stone with a bit of help from me. -
Is there anything like best bike split that will let me work out what power I might need for a set time on a set course? I found best bike split wildly underestimated by half Ironman power so either I’m insanely un aero (possible), my power meter over reads (likely) or I’m using it wrong.
I’d like to know eg what power I might need for a local course to do 2-4 mins quicker than last year to have a little motivating goal through winter.
I guess I could just go and ride the course and work this out myself but that won’t work for longer or further away courses?
Now I’m interested in pro bikes!
