Had the same problem a while back... I agree the Compag is a far far far better bb, but I fitted the Miche, giving me a perfect chainline instead. Silent.
No issues at all with the Miche, as in it hasn't exploded or anything. If/when it does, I'll put another one in (unless I can find, and afford, a better quality 107mm ISO bb). I just feel a lot more happy when the chain's straight.

I am sure they'll be apologetic, but it would be quite interesting to know how it got bent.
I know nothing about powdercoating really but am assuming that they have the frame held up on some rig in the oven, so was wondering if the rear dropouts are one contact point for that.
But what I can't work out is how they coat 100% of the frame, unless they do two coats and move the contact points half way through the process.
And, nice colour.

Hello.
On the off-chance anyone has duplicates or has upgraded their tools, leaving reasonable quality spares, I'm on the lookout for:
- chain whip, and lock ring spanner
- crank puller (square taper, of course one that also works on splines would be fine)
- bb socket/tool (what's the proper name for these?) for compag/miche etc cartridge bbs
- and maybe if you have spare useful sized (eg 15mm) wrenches, preferably open-ended or combination, not boxed, they could be very useful too.
Not fussed about condition, in fact I often prefer used tools 'cause they've been tested... as long as they're not too shithouse. So if you have anything sitting around that you don't want many pounds for let me know, I can post some dough or pick up in person, may even give me an excuse/courage to come to drinks.
I am also looking out for black leather bar tape but not (and I don't really know why) the Charge branded stuff. If I can't find any for cheap then I might have a go at making some.
thanks, and have an awesome day.

I Heart David Lynch
Oh yeah, he's fucking magic. I'm continually impressed how straight-up and cool he is, even while he's creating his own mental universe.
and that reminds me of this

the grinder needs to cut the entire cross-section of the shackle, so should instead compare the volume, not diameter of that circle.
evo = pi*(13/2)^2 = pi42.25
fag = pi(18/2)^2 = pi*81
fag = evo*1.92plus the cross-bar thing weighs like it's made of enriched uranium. As someone at the lbs said, "how could you forget about that thing sitting in your bag" - ROFL.
it's all been said before, the fag's best, the evo is still an excellent and highly convenient lock (I use it).
So the evo mini has 73.22% of the steel of a krypro fah, but costs only 50% of the price. I'd say if your metric was millimeters of shackle per £, the evo is better value.

last minutes with oden - i thought at first his dad was the one he was cut up about or he maybe was the one with cancer, then it turns out his fucking dog is the one hes all crushed about hahahaha, guess he did say he was a soft dude.
That's probably the most obnoxious "hahahaha" I've ever read. Yes, humans are more important than "fucking dogs", but that means you can't express a little thoughtfulness and emotion and grief because an animal dies?
Last time I cried was last year, I just remembered my old terrier, I had him since I was four, when I was 19 I couldn't find him anywhere until I thought of the pool, and dove in to search around in the muck to fish him out. That dog was a loyal friend for 15 years, and a constant link to a real and basic world separate from the bitchiness and angst of being a modern human.
So for me a little cry was in order when I remembered him... guess that makes me soft, but at least I'm honest.

The griffin always has piles of them...
You mean the "strip-pub" where they have some bird wandering around with a pint glass and you throw in a pound once in a while? WTF?
@ defenda, is that david lynch in your avatar?
Yes.

I've always wanted to meet John le Carre and Hugh Grant, introduce them to each other, and for them to produce a remake of The Russia House, with Hugh playing Barley. I would helpfully explain to Hugh that he is a shit actor but this is the role he was made for, and to John that The Russia House is a far more important and entertaining book than his current output. We would all drink too much beer and end up going to the strips, do drugs, and next day rather than wondering wtf we'd still enthusiastically draft a production agreement.
That's as close to "I'm not gay but..." as I've got so far.
And Raymond Chandler/Clive Owen - The Big Sleep, Kingsley Amis/Alan Davies - Lucky Jim etc. Now that I think about it, I have the hots for my favourite author/actor/novel combos... time for therapy. I'd fuck Penelope Cruz though.

You'd think finding a copy of Vice magazine in Shoreditch would be as easy as shooting hipsters at an American Apparel riot, but I never see it around.
Despite it being the bible for the painfully unaware, I always find it a really good read and I love free shit. Can anyone tell me the best place to pick up a copy?
Thank you.

I haven't been able to find the Tange bb on TFG's store, there's a Sugino... but JIS, and 103.
Online all the Tange bb's I find are JIS. Interestingly (I guess), here they suggest Sugino and Tange BBs come from the same factory:
http://www.velosolo.co.uk/shopchain.htmlThanks for the advice on the Compag Veloce, Re-cycled, but I think I'm first going to fit the Miche 107 so I can start with a good chainline. Once I'm used to the set-up and start to feel any wear I'll start saving for an upgrade.
I've been loving getting all the parts together and fitting them - starting with Sheldon and the forum everything seems easy but opaque, but once I've start bolting on things become more intuitive... but complicated. Hopefully the transmission will be tight n clean by the weekend.
I can't imagine riding it with that bar setup. You'd need to get off to turn it in the right direction.
