I have a black Raleigh Record Sprint 64cm, 501 Aerospace concour tubing. I'm 5ft 11ins and although I prefer larger
frames it's always been on the 'too big' side for me.
Good condition fitted with recent Schwalbe marathon 700 x
28 road tyres and Rolls San marco seat with gold bits to
match all the other gold bits (crank, pedals, brakes, etc). Although fitted with narrow straight bars (gold of course) I
still have the original gold drops and gold brake levers.
Apart from changing the handlebars, pedals and seat the
bike is completely original.
Ideally looking for £150, Any interest?I'm in Welling Kent/London borders..
I can pm pics (or at least I think I can?)... -

Another article from the Guardian generally about black / non-white riders in
cycle racing. It all builds a picture of the sport in general. Maurice Burton, mainly
a track rider 70's and 80's, also mixed race, is mentioned in this report too.http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/ethicallivingblog/2009/aug/10/cycling-white-sport

There has been a problem for years!
http://www.pezcyclingnews.com/default.asp?pg=fullstory&id=3596
Read this link/story about Maurice Burton, fantastic rider from Forest Hill London,
now owns De Ver Cycles. I was riding with VCL in the early 70's, the racism bit was
well known about by all of us at the time. Maybe nothing has changed, awfull shame! -

Chainring to rear sprocket ratios can be achieved many ways, 48/18 sounds
a sensible starting point.
If you want to be critical about gear ratios don't forget to take the pedal crank
length into account as per Sheldon Brown's link below:
http://sheldonbrown.com/gain.html
It gets just a bit more technical than first thought!Another thought; Would a 12 (or 11) teeth cog wear out really quick, more strain
on each tooth - the smaller the cog, distribution of force from chain on cog?
Falcon 20" Hybrid frame (steel) good cond - £10 in Welling Kent.
