Hi all, long time since I last lurked or posted. Regrettably, I'm looking to sell my Freddie Grubb path bike build complete.
Frame:
The frame is a 50/60's (in the time I've had it've reckoned it at 1957) Freddie Grubb Comet. For a bit of recent owner history start here: http://www.retrodicorsa.cc/Retro_di_Corsa/archive/Pages/Freddie_Grubb.html before going here: http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/172168/ where I bought it. Vital measurements: 21.25” x 22.5” or 54.5cm x 57cm, 1” steerer, English BB, 26.4mm seat post, 110mm rear spacing. Great condition with a wonderfully vibrant paint job (almost definitely after-market) with the expected dings and scratches.Bits:
Rims are Atlanta 96's in great condition with a Dura Ace 7710 hub on the front and a Miche Primato small flange on the back. Stronglight chainset. I think it's 54/22. New Brooks Swift saddle (last one stolen about two weeks ago so this one's seen about ten minutes riding) and matching Brooks tape that is slightly more worn. Brake is Tiagra with a Dia Compe 135 lever. BB was replaced with a new Miche one but the headset is the original (and perfectly working) Modus one. Bars, stem and seatpost are all relatively prosaic brands but all in great condition.Price:
I rarely get to ride it and unfortunately I have a new bike incoming and one of the existing stable just had to go. I'm loathe to break it up (is that a thing that people still do here?) so will be looking for people who are interested in the whole thing for £400. Collection only please from Camberwell/Peckham. -
I'm re-attempting to sell my early 60's Freddie Grubb Comet (without the wheels) because it just sits in my living room doing naught and I really want to get a new road bike.
- TT is 54cm which is fine for me at just over six foot.
- Couple of scratches (it is fifty) but no fundamental structural damage
- Has full Nervex lugwork, path/track ends even mudguard eyelets.
- The fitting for a Dia Compe 135 lever is on the handlebar and I can chuck that in for a fiver or whatever if you want it.
Some notable features:
Brooks Swift saddle
Brooks bar tape
Cinelli Criterium bars
Cinelli 1A stem
Stronglight drive
Aero seatpost
Other nice thingsPreferably not a splitter unless there's no plausible interest. Can collect in Camberwell. So, starting the bidding at** £350** ONO
THE WHEELS ARE NOT INCLUDED.

Hi all,
I've been putting together a film for the end of my master's degree for a few weeks but one of the actors I hired has dropped out at the last minute with only a week to go.
The film I'm making is a scripted documentary for this project ( http://tobiasrevell.com/newmumbaia.html )
For one of the roles I need a preferably middle-aged or older male actor who can read and speak Hindi (the script is in Hindi) It's only a few lines and would need to be shot sometime this week in Sydenham Hill Woods
I can offer about £50 and will pay for transport expenses.

Tranas,
Contacting me through facebook, flickr and repeated demands for emails and phone calls is not the way to secure confidence. Just send me a PM if you're interested.

Hey,
Lots of dibs, very little action. I can never understand why these folk can't just say: 'hey sorry, I don't really want it. I had a special key made for my keyboard that says 'dibs' and all I do all night is sit with my eyes glued to the classifieds, whacking it at random like an angry kitten. It's a problem and I'm getting help. I did think that NJS stem would be great on my specialised hard rock conversion though.'
Know how many folk even seem to know the word 'thanks' or even lay out correspondence? I used to think the illiteracy figures for this country were totally bogus scare-mongering until I started recieving messages form the rude apush brutes lurking at the fringes of the classifieds section
Mon oui!
Anyway, yeah. Pm me.
Did the spoke light go in the end? If not, dibs?

Re: The bar/stem combo.
I'm getting so many time wasters on these. Kids who just set up an account this week and don't know what they're doing. At the moment soapbear30 is top of the list but I get the feeling I'll never hear back from him after his demands for a PM. If I don't hear back by this eve then they go to nick warner.

It's not awful, one would only notice it when they're off the bike. There's no rolling resistance. I think I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to the spinny bits on bikes - if it's not smooth as milk then it's defective.
The slight buckle that I think is in the rear is more noticeable as a very slight nudge every rotation. But it could have been the tyre I was using that had a rip in it so I'm not 100%. (I have tried looking but it's hard to tell)
That freddy grubb. it's the sex.
how grindy are the rosas?

Hi there.
There are a few in my flickr set here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tobiasrevell/sets/72157627242834434/
Tobias
I am so interested in the Freddie Grubb but my bank account isn't.
Would it be possible for you to take a drive side picture of it if you don't mind? I would love to see that.

It means they grind a bit, as in the bearings are a bit knackered.
out of interest. what did u mean by the pro lite rosa's are a bit grindy?
Thanks, absolutely, drop me a PM whenever.
That Grubb's a thing of beaty - sorry to hear that you have to part with it.
Any chance I could get provisional dibs on the PS2 + games until tomorrow evening? Unless someone arranges to pick it up before then - in which case by all means ignore this. Thanks! -

I would guess around £5
I'm afraid I can't PM you since I only registered earlier today, it says I'll be able to once I've been on the site for 24 hours, so roughly this time tomorrow.
Travelling into London is a bit difficult for me from where I am though, do you have a rough idea of how much it'd cost to get them posted? -
