Hi lfgss,
I've no idea what this little piece of metal is called, but I need a new one. Believe it or not the old one cracked in two. Must have had the wheel on too tight...
This is the hub http://outspokencycles.co.uk/hubs/formsilver.html
On this picture http://www.cyclebasket.com/smsimg/114/2062-5580-full-fixed_free_hub_005-114.jpg
From outside to inside we have: track nut, the metal bit I need, a washer, another bit of metal.Essentially it's the bit which grips the inside of the dropout.
Any clues?

Took you out smiff and fixed the numbering.
I was going to do FNRttC Brighton on 13 May but they now have a registration fee and you need insurance (fuck that!) so this will be my first LFGSS ride instead :D
I ride 49/15 (86 GI). How big is this hill again...?

Campagnolo Veloce bb for sale
English thread, 111mm spindle length
It was only ridden for about 1 month, so done maybe 200 miles max, ie. internally in very good condition. Otherwise a little pitted, see pics. Only selling as I changed to a 115mm spindle veloce to perfect my chainline.
Pick it up off me for £10 from W12?

Got a nice zig zag scratch down half the post now, nice. Might be hard to return it.
Ye there's a bit of paint inside the top inch or so of tube.
The frame really isn't worth anything fancy like reaming. It was £10 remember.
So, it looks the problem is in fact the top of the tube being a little off circular. Will get some grease tomorrow and see

Another quickie lfgss, if you please...
The stock seatpost says 26,4 mm. Now I just bought a new seatpost (zoom), also sized 26,4, which is too big. It's taken a load of paint off the inside of the tube (grr).
So firstly - what's with that? The mm didn't get bigger in the last 30 years did it..?
And how much smaller should I go? I can easily get a 26,0 as a replacement, that sound about right?

I carried on using a 27.2 - but longer.. this is what happened:
http://www.lfgss.com/post242277-1.html
Further investigation by using different sized posts (thanks retro di corsa) suggested the seattube was meant for a 27.0.
Holy crap. And I just came on looking for a longer seatpost for my ridiculously long legs..
Is it possible that you destroyed the tube by using a too wide seatpost, not a too long one?

Keeping my thread alive...
Got a problem. The adjustable bb cup has decided that it doesn't want to stay in any more. A few rotations of the cranks cause it to come out a few turns, and tightening it past the 'biting point' with the bearings does the same. This suggests that the threads are buggered, and since the threads on the cup itself look ok, I guess the threads in the frame are f'ed. It's hard to tell by looking at them though.
Sigh. What can I do about this then?

Shit, that's over 90 gear inches. get a 19 or 20t cog on the back and get it down to 70-is and you'll like it a lot more.
(Without having a test ride of 70-80 GI I can't really say this but) I'm quite liking the ridiculous potential for top speed at the moment. Just getting my leg power back to what it used to be...
Interested. Just checking is that 25" centre of BB to top of seat tube?
