lovely frame. what's the seatpost size?
Seat post size is 26.8mm. I have one that fits. It is a rare Birmalux (but branded 'Lambert') aluminium one that was fitted to Viscount Aerospace bikes. Trusty Viscount was created out of the ashes of the bankrupt Lambert of England bicycle manufacturer.
I could throw in the seat post for a tenner which is a BARGAIN!
Cheers

Whats the spacing at the rear? Really interested in the frame! Approx postage cost?
Hi
Thanks for your enquiry. Postage via Royal Mail Standard Parcels is £10.34. That is their website quote. If I send it and it actually costs less (I've had that happen before - don't reckon much to the RM website!) I would of course refund the difference via Paypal.
The spacing between the rear dropouts is 125mm - standard 1970s! -
1977 Viscount Aerospace Pro frame, forks and Lambert front centre pull brake. Frame size - 23.5".
Frame resprayed metallic silver (superb job!!!!), restickered, laquered in 2011 by Hewitt Cycles. Cost £140.
Forks rechromed.
Original Viscount headset and brake quick release. Both rechromed.
Frame is made from Phoenix Tube Co. Ltd. '1027' grade CroMo steel. Thinner walled than Reynolds 531 yet has basically the same tensile and yield strength. Lovely low temperature fillet brazing - no lugs obscuring crude tube mitring here! Forks have Vagner forged crown and Suntour drop outs. These are NOT the alloy death forks. This is one of the first Aerospace Pros that came factory fitted with CroMo forks.
1973 Shimano Dura Ace derailleur cable guide (was NOS).
New bottom bracket bearings.
Genuine Viscount bottom bracket spindle fitted AND a spare one provided just in case. The fitted bottom bracket spindle has a JIS taper. The spare has Viscount's own ISO type taper. So, you have all tapers covered to provide plenty of crank options.
Two small dints on frame that are NOT structural. Some marks in the lacquer where wheels, front deraiileur and gear levershave been been attached (unavoidable). Needs a clamp for the seat tube.
Payment by PayPal gift, cheque or cash on collection.
£80 + postage (you choose the way you want it posted) -
Are you sellling the brakes?
The brakes are long gone. However, if you want to 'keep it in the family' I have a set of NOS Lambert centre pulls.
They come with slightly used 1970s(!) Shimano brake blocks. PLEASE NOTE - the brakes have never been mounted to a frame let alone used!
Yours for £13.00 including P&P.
Please PM if you are interested.
PS I'm amazed the frame has not sold!!!
Cheers

All original, low temperature fillet brazed frame made from Phoenix Tube Co. Ltd. '1027' tubing. Chromoly fork. A 1976 model. Some rust and scratches but no dents. All looks to be nice and straight too.
Would need a repaint (Aerospace frames were originally powder coated at the factory) or touch up. Original and never used "Viscount" (down tube) and "Aerospace Sport" (top tube) stickers (not shown) included to help with a repaint.
Pictures show bike in unstripped condition. You would get the frame and forks only.
Selling cos it's just too small for me - much as I hate to admit it.
Price - £30 including postage (cheap, because I am not a dealer pretending to have a clearout!!).
Can send more pictures if you want.
Cheers all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I have a Viscount Aerospace Sport frame with its original chromed Tange fork. It is a 21.5" frame (too small for me!). Everything is straight, no dints, cracks, etc. Yours for £15 + shipping.
Price is cheap because I am not a dealer that strips out cyclejumbles...Just a regular cyclist who would like to make some room in my shed!
Please PM me if interested. -

Backgound
Just started riding ss again after 30 years. Waiting for bike shop to get 18 tooth sprocket in (they had to order one!) then will go fgss. Used to commute from Clapham to Islington on fixed, so can ride.Question is this. I can't decide if I should wear full on high-vis class3/class2 BS EN 471 clothing and look a bit of a prat or wear cool looking urban cycle gear, which seems to be pretty low viz.
What do the team think?
Apologies in advace if this has been done to death already: couldn't find much on search.
My recipe for survival is this
***3 ***ultra bright LED rear lights set to flash at different rates
High viz BS vest
2 ultra bright front LED lights plus one more traditional light (Cateye)I look like a mobile xmas tree and a total prat BUT it works. Every vehicle that comes past me leaves a very wide birth. Perfect for safe winter riding. 30 years of riding without being pulped!!!

Picked up this Viscount over the weekend from Gumtree for 50 quid. Am pretty sure its okay, I met the owner at his house. He didnt look as if he needed to nick bikes and sell them on as it was in a very affluent area. He has changed to a hybrid and wanted to get rid. Have done a bit of stripping down already, any info on this marque would be appreciated. Have already checked out Classic Rendezvous. I am sure I remember seeing a few of you on here say you have Viscounts.
What you have is a 1978 Viscount Sebring. I used to have one of these until some txxt stole it. They were made by Trusty Viscount at the Potters Bar factory. Sadly Viscount folded in 1983. The Sebring's frame was made in Taiwan for Viscount. The steel was not Reynolds, Columbus, etc. or Viscount's own 'Aerospace' brand. The Sebring cost £95 in 1978 and was an amazing bargain (came with Shimano 600 gears and nice SR parts). It sold really well in the USA probably helped by the low price, great spec. and coooool looks.
Don't blame you - it's Christmas!!!
Sent you a PM.
Thanks
