Hi All,
Wow, thank you everyone for such a response. It's great that there is support for something new. Ok, well the original idea was a magical mystery route, but Smooth Jack has decided to post the route that will now take us south to Greenwich Park and then off to the Trafalgar Pub. The route back will be under the foot tunnel and back through the Docklands.
The route is 15 miles in total.

Spring is kind of here, so it's time to get out of the city. So what I am proposing is a regular midweek escape out of town 20 or 30 miles for a 12 hour adventure. Tents, camp fires, ghost stories and half warmed baked beans on highly dangerous gas stoves.
So, the caper would begin at Fullcity round about 6pm, coffee and light out for the open road through the charming rush hour city traffic in whatever direction. Ride to one of a number of identified campsites in the sticks and set up camp.
Early the next morning, shower, pack up and either ride back (of course) or take the train (for the softies).
Directional link http://www.rivbike.com/article/bike_camping/a_kit_for_one_night_out.
First one: 19th May to Basingstoke Canal Centre, Mytchett Place Road, Mytchett, Surrey. GU16 6DD. Other identified trips are Sevenoaks, Lewes, East Grinstead, Maldon and Canvey Island. Any other ideas?
It's 35 miles, so should only take a couple of hours. So, who up?

Hi Everyone,
A number of visitors to the shop have suggested a Singles Ride around town. So, let me introduce you to our Smooth MC Jack, who will be leading the ride on Thursday 27th May.
The plan is: meeting at Fullcity at 6.30pm for coffee, cake, a few mellow tunes and (I suspect) a little Giro highlights. Then an hour later bike up for Jack's 'Ride of Romance'.
So peeps, who up?

Hi Good People,
The route is coming together. After a snifter at Look Mum No Hands, we'll be going east to Broadway Market and Climpson and Sons, North to Ginger and White, into town to Lantana and then south to Scooterworks. If anyone is still alive, we can go back to Fullcity for more coffee and if I've managed to get Virgin to hook us up, the opening time trial of the Giro D' Italia.

Hi everyone,
Here is the plan for the first organised European ride from Fullcity.
Etage 1: 30th Apr, 8am, 127km riding from London to Harwich, taking the ferry (check-in time 5:15pm), drinking and North Sea wind overnight!
Etage 2: 1st May the ferry drops us at 1pm in Esbjerg, here friends (about 3 so far) from Copenhagen pick us up and we'll start the search for Silkeborg (120km).
Etage 3: 2nd May, Silkeborg to Arhus (43km), short ferry journey and then the search for Copenhagen (still 140km from here).
In Copenhagen, we’ll stay with the friendly Danes with whom we’re partnering up on this caper in Denmark.
It’s gonna be fun and stuff, there will be organised group rides with the posse, sprinting the harbour, chasing the girls and stuff. Plus I’ve got a hankering to see Elsinore.
ESSENTIAL: booking the ferry: a six-bed cabin would be £237 in total. This makes it £39.50 each and further groups of six will get their own cabin, etc. But we do need the passport numbers of all of those that want to come with us (stupid UK travel policy).
Returning: now the hardcore can of course ride back, but sadly I’ll be researching flights back: probably Easyjet from Copenhagen to Stansted, flights are around £40 (incl. bike).
So, who’s up for a madcap Danish adventure?

Right, lets deal with the questions. I wasn't planning on collecting from the public en-route, I have taken note of the support this thread and will float a few ideas as to practical donation ideas, i.e socks.
Regarding the stressed nature of drivers, well I would like to think that if anything a massed ride of santas will be accepted in a spirit of seasonal goodwill. I maybe naive, but thats me.
Of course, so far the route is not set in stone and it does require the ascent of the various venues I've mooted for stopping off.
Any ideas?

Santa Ride
Hi Everybody, I've been emailed by Scott who has given his blessing to attach my suggested ride to his appeal.
It's going to be on the morning of 19th December starting at the Christmas market at Somerset House. The theme as you can gather will be be a peloton of Santas, Frosty the Snowmans and Elves. Instead of the prizes, the idea would be to distribute whatever donations we have gathered.
The proposed route is Trafalgar Square, St. James, Regent Street, Oxford Street (stop at Selfridges), Picadilly, Knightsbridge (stop at Harvey Nicks or Harrods) but then maybe go south of the river to Waterloo.
Any suggestions?

Hi Everybody, After many discussions today at the Espresso RIde I feel sufficently emboldened to suggest a ride on the 19th December starting at the Christmas market at Somerset House. The theme as you can gather will be be a peloton of Santas, Frosty the Snowmans and Elves. Once again there will be prizes galore and I shall try and blag catering from a publishing firm that will be at the market.
The proposed route is Trafalgar Square, St. James, Regent Street, Oxford Street (stop at Selfridges), Picadilly, Knightsbridge (stop at Harvey Nicks or Harrods) and then the Natural History Museum.
Any suggestions?

Hi there,
This maybe a little previous, but are you wedded to the idea of the Sunday 20th December? I was floating an idea for a ride on the Saturday 19th, starting at the Christmas market at Somerset House. The theme was to be a Santa Ride, suggesting all riders dress in Father Christmas outfits.I haven't started a thread on this as I've still got the Espresso Ride this Saturday. What do you reckon?
I am writing to reply to London Courier. Oh dear Alex, did you really have to lower yourself to a campaign of smearing an establishment which has been a supporter of couriers in London?
To everyone else reading, this post is due to Alex having his bike top tube scratched outside the shop today. He demanded an excess of money to respray the bike, I offered to touch up a scratch.
So there it is, someone doesn't get their way, and they resort to blackmail. What does everyone else think, and is this really the forum for petty squabbles?
