I am looking for some parts for my Peugeot PX50 from early-mid 70's.
Its a budget project but on-going so please let me know if you have any of these.1) 650B Rims (or 584 ETRO or 26" x 1 1/2 BUT not 650A or 650C), one matching pair, 36H.
Either Super Champion, Nisi, Wolber or Grand Bois (in other words, double wall type, round smooth top surface classic look)
3) Randonneur Bar, Alloy, about 450mm wide C-C
4) Mafac Criterium Cantilever shoe clamping bolts+nuts. Hope I can find rust free set.
5) x4 Hangers for Mafac in rust free cond. If you have these bolts+nuts separately thats great but thats rare, so whole set of hanger is fine.
6) Small Hatch/Cover for front steering lock
This bike has steering lock at the joint of head tube and down tube. It has small round hatch about half inch diameter in size, similar to oil hole cover you can find in industrial machines. Both lock and hatch is gone missing when I bought it and I don't need the lock but I want the hatch/cover so that rain water will not get inside the frame.
Thanks!

I restored my friend's Muddy Fox Courier and covered with RAL 9003 + Metallic Clear. Thanks for all the info about Armourtex. Without you guys know-how we couldn't have done it!

Don't get it from halfords ...it's shite, get it from the paint factors place around the back of bethnal green on tent street...they do single pack acrylic in cans that sprays really nicely..
I am thinking of applying vinyl printed sticker on top of armourtex powder coat and spraying clear lacquer. Google told me that clear on top of powder coating need to be 2 pack (epoxy or urethan I guess) but it didn't tell me why. Can it be single pack 2K clear like this do you think?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360242043609&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123
I tried this on car spoiler I repainted and the result was superb almost the same as 2 pack 2K clear, amazing smooth gloss without polishing after spraying.
By the way, do Armourtex do pearl flake clear coat? It is not on the price list and I feel I have seen the picture here but can't find it anymore.

A DIY paintjob doesn't really pay off (rattlecans are as much an Armourtex job) and I think stripping would make it rust.
If you are on a budget, have a lot of time and you want to try, then why not.
I have done with paint remover or stripper twice before and, I warn you it is a painful task - literally your skin will be in pain if touched with the stripper.
Normally the paint will not come off in one go so you need several times then you will need to sand it off with sand paper by hand (if you don't have power tool with appropriate tools).
Then, prime with etching primer, sand smooth again then paint with top coat if solid, if you opt for metallic you will need clear lacquer on top.If you buy all these, stripper, degreaser, primer, colour, lacquer, it is already £30ish plus sand papers and your full one to two days.
If it is your first time paint job, unless you are genius, your un-satisfaction is almost guaranteed and most of the case your frame will start rust soon.If Armourtex can do all for £49 (solid? collect?) it is well worth it - their finish is fab.
At least I feel this way after I got my frame back from them. -
Mario seems to do "stove-enamel, two-pack (for carbon frames) or powder".
My understanding of chip resistant is that enamel < two-pack < powder.
As far as I have read in this site people who complained about chipping seem to have painted with enamel.Has anyone painted with two-pack or powder by Mario?
Or painted with enamel and two-pack clear as final protective finish (may not be compatible I can't remember)?
On his site it says "two-pack (for carbon frames)" but, in general, has been used on car body repair(not in production line) for long time so I believe it is possible. -
Seems like Armourtex has updated their home page (or am I uber slow noticed today finally!?)
In their 'Gallery' section, there is one with silver metallic finish! (or am I dreaming!? or is that just gray...) -

That's called 'split pin' use to clip soft material but good idea.
If you want more secure fix, use solid rivet(but much thinner) like this.http://www.sapphireproducts.co.uk/4620t5.htm
There should be alu, copper, brass ones and various length and diameter. May be alu is easy to use. And buy these rivet snap (not the simple punch. snap has negative spherical shape at the top) which should be suitable size for the rivet.
http://www.toolshopdirect.co.uk/shop.php/tools/Priory
To use it, you need solid steel round bar or equivalent slightly thinner than the head tube but long enough so that you can fix the bar with vice or, steady table with c clamp.
Put the rivet from inside the head tube, through the badge, put the head tube with the bits through the steel bar and rest on it. SO that the rivet is pushed against the steel bar. Then hammer the head of the rivet with the punch, till the head become round like mushroom, and secure the badge.
You ve got hammer very carefully and slowly so that you don't damage the badge.
I recommend to do a test before you try on the real.
Hope I m making sense. If you are on a budget, simply buy alu bar or equivalent in desired diameter, cut it short, hammer it to make your own rivet and use it.

I have just spotted this today.
It is a town bike sold by Michelin Japan.
The designer is Mr Matsuda from Level in Tokyo, Japan.
It was commission by Michelin Japan and Mr Matsuda decided designed town bike good enough for pro Keirin riders' town use.
The tubing is Reynolds 520 Cro-mo and the rubbers are Michelin Pilot 28c.
The frame has twin down tube design to absorb unwanted vibration.
Mr Matsuda hand made the prototype by himself.
The production is in Taiwan (hand made) under Mr Matsuda's scary observation.
Comes with Shimano internal 5 speed.
Costs ¥99,750 (£664.82)
