ha, that's the one, no idea how many times I've had that explained to me on various forums....I seem to have some sort of mental block on remembering it.
Still it's built up into a very solid looking beast and, when some new wheels arrive, I have a Swift in large to build up ready for my youngest. No rush on that one as he's not big enough for it yet but it won't be long if his brothers are anything to go by. That's why I had the KM frame by the way but the Swift is just a classier looking ride.

Well finally got my eldest Singular Swift finished this evening and he can take it for a shakedown tomorrow. This is an XL frame which I got from Barenecessities here and we're very happy. Saddle will need to go up and back for the lanky git but he can do that himself, I needed it lower so that I could test as I went along. Build is fairly basic pending future upgrades but he can wear this stuff out first. Hopefully I've got this link right for the picture:-

Oh and if anyone is on the lookout for a KM frameset to build up I have one going size large in battleship grey, it's as new.
I don't think this breaks any forum rules but apologies if I've got it wrong, seemed like a good.different idea to me.
Okay this is still in the garage and really has to go so I'm starting a daily price reduction, the price excludes delivery which I estimate at around £20 so:-
Monday 26/11/12 the price is £359
it is going to drop by £1 per day for however long it takes or until I lose my nerve or get bored....so tomorrow it will be £358, Wednesday £357 and so on....first come first served

The Jones Loops are the heart of £100 over here now, but there are other options. Having owned the Loop, Cut Loop and Titec version of the original I ended up offloading all of them. The two bikes they were used on, tourer and 29er, now run Mary Bars. The tourer also has some stubby barends inboard of the grips to give a more stretched out position and I may do the same on the 29er.
With the Loop bars I just didn't feel I used the alternative hand positions enough to justify the cost etc. The Mary Bars with the barends give me the same regular use hand positions and enough variability to keep me happy.
I've also got some wider Fleegle bars to mess about with and again would probably mount some inboard bar ends.

I'm tempted...would I get a rack for panniers on that do you think?
it has the fittings for front and rear racks as well as the mudguards. I had one before which I used when I had a 40 mile a day commute and it never let me down. Which is why, when I thought I had to abandon my Ti project, this is what I bought instead. In fact my Ti frame bears more than a passing resemblance to a mix of Surly Crosscheck and LHT.
bump for final price reduction and additonal offer.
I need the space so I'll drop this down to £400 collected or £420 posted/delivered. I'll also include and unused pair of Shimano M520 clipless pedals in black.
I paid £348 for the frameset and headset from Charlie the Bikemonger, I think that's still about the best you'd do pricewise.
As it's space rather than money I'm in need of then, if I know you(or have enough knowledge of you), there's the option of up to a year interest free to pay.
I'd email Chris at Swrve direct. He is quick to respond.
Ta, did that, but then decided that I'd order the XL, if it's too big then it will do his older brother and I'll order another in L for him.
It's not easy this, trying to get something teenagers will actually wear that will also do what us parents want it to. He did rather like the Rapha Mac Softshell which was never going to happen.

Folks, I'm looking at the ES Milwaukee Hoodie for one of my sons. He's just shy of 6', well built and still growing, he's 14. I'm thinking L or XL...hoping to allow some growing room.
I have read through the thread but can't get a feel for sizing and not sure if it varies between the different types of Milwaukee and earlier models.
Any advice please?
you can always run a double chainring but skip the FD completely. I've done this with a triple and just replaced the outer ring with a bashguard. It's not hard to shift between rings manually. I've even read tales of touring cyclists that used to do this on the move by using a spare spoke.
Done this way you can mix and match whatever combo suits rather than something that needs to match FD capacity/shape.
