The TV industry has a problem with sexual misconduct, inappropriate behaviour and bullying because of an industry wide culture of silence & plausible deniability; the broadcasters "don't know" because the shows are made by separate production companies, the production companies "don't know" because the productions are ran separately to the corporate production arm and everyone that works on production is a freelancer so not employed by the production companies. Freelancers will all have disappeared elsewhere by the time people make complaints.
The BBC is one of the largest broadcasters in the UK & everyone that works in TV will work on a show broadcast on the BBC at some point in their careers so of course the BBC will quite often be implicated when incidents are made public.
Creepy talent & management get away with things because no one wants to upset the other companies; broadcasters need to keep the producers on side for key shows in order to keep the future series on their channels, producers don't want to upset the broadcasters as they rely on broadcaster funding in order to make the shows, then there's the secondary sales around the world which is a massive money maker for UK companies etc...
Unless there's a fundamental shift to prioritising safeguarding over profits, I don't think the industry is going to change any time soon.

To be fair to O'Connor he has shown more resilience than expected, he normally cracks but he hasn't (yet) he's just not as fast on the really steep bits.
I don't think Roglic is showing he's going to be up at the top tier level, he should be trouncing this lot and he's made a right meal out of it.
Big day today, hopefully there's another twist today, maybe a real long ranger...

I've always been wary of third party controllers, they just never seem as good.
I bought a modded official controller a few years ago and it was really good, bought it from Aim Controllers. It was a PS4 controller modded with back-buttons, clicky triggers, longer analogue sticks & grippy stuff on the back - was still working perfectly when I retired from CoD.
Not sure if their offering would be better than the new Sony ones but the customisation is nice.

Still can't get over how bad last night was, didn't realise what I thought was generic euro weirdness was actually French culture. Did enjoy the juxtaposition of robotic floating horse to old nag & the balloon was good.
Looking forward to the skateboarding and double disc action in a storm for the TT later.

Because I don't read enough hifi reviews to have a publication or author whose opinion I trust, I just found them all a bit of a waste of time; it's either YouTube channels and random websites just regurgitating the specs and some BS about the original brand or reviewers that do try to describe the audio qualities but using such opposing language to each other it's as if they're listening to completely different amps.
From what I can tell, the Leak is a decent mid-tier amp with similar performance/insides to a couple of others in the same price bracket, that's been put in different looking packaging.
I'll take a couple of my preferred test records to the shop & see what's what. Might end up with the Leak or there might be something better on the day!

We ordered samples from one of the generic sounding online worktop stores - maybe worktop express or direct or someone like that.
It's the same Fenix that is the outside layer of a lot of Plykea doors if you're going to see them, the worktops are just solid chunks of Fenix rather than a thin layer glued onto plywood.

We wanted Corian but unfortunately I took my dad to the showroom with me to check it out & he scratched it pretty easily, the thought of him checking for scratches every time he came round crossed that one off the list!
Then we ran out of money so ended up with laminate - looks fine & is extremely cheap!
If I had the cash & inclination to change it now I'd go solid Fenix - easy to clean, you can heal scratches & nothing even sticks to it.

Still pretty bleak from the more corporate side of TV; companies/labels are merging back-office type roles, smaller companies are being defunded - from talking to friends in similar roles, it sounds like there's probably going to be a few hundred less TV jobs in the UK by the end of the year. Everyone I know that works in production on non-salaried roles (ie most people in production) are considering leaving the industry for more stability.
Difficult times but you've got to hope companies adapt to the new realities of cashflows, become more efficient then can keep going! People still need something to watch so it's not like TV's are just going to be blank screens but it's just where & how the content is made that's in question for me.

A while ago, I think a couple of people in here talking about the Leak 130 amp - I'm in the market for a new amp (and probably CD player) and the Leak offering has caught my attention, anyone got any opinions on them?
I'm aware you're paying about £100 per unit to have relatively modern tech put in a wooden box but they'll be in full view in the most used room so the looks are part of the appeal.
For context the rest of the chain is a Project debut carbon or Spotify through some Q Acoustic 3020i's. In the middle of a large-ish kitchen/diner/lounge so never going to be proper listening room levels of sound quality needed. Currently using a Cambridge Audio Topaz AM5 which has been fine for an entry level amp but having individually upgraded to the current record player & speakers and noted obvious improvements, I feel the amp is a bit brittle sounding & holding the rest back.
I've been in a similar quandary; currently between the Linton's and JBL L82s.
Was very disappointed the Linton's weren't on sale anywhere for black Friday given the new one has recently released, hopefully stores will be looking to clear space in Jan!
