Having recently got 3 wheels stolen while moving house (1 on my gravel bike and 2 on the bike below), I have no choice but to part with what is left of the mountain bike so can fund some new wheels for my gravel bike...
Sooo... ideally to sell this as it is rather than splitting for parts. All it needs is 2x 26" wheels with a 9-speed cassette and discs - and will be good to hit the trails and/or roads!
When it had wheels, it was an awesome bike to ride. Well fun and felt super sturdy. Hasn't been used as much as it should have, and primarily on road. Rode occasionally on light trails in Epping, never crashed nor jumped with it.
Fork is well plush and responsive, the frame appears bombproof. I gave it a full service (including the fork) last September and swapped/upgraded most of the parts. Full list below.
Users' reviews of the bike can be found here, all raving: https://www.mtbr.com/product/bikes/xc-hardtail/gt/avalanche-0-5.html
SOLD which I believe is a more than fair price considering the quality/condition of the upgraded parts + the fact that you get a great frame and fork combo for a few tenners more.
If any questions or offers, give a shout below or hit my inbox.
- GT Avalanche 0.5 Large size frame - structurally intact, just a few scratches and marks here and there. Excellent condition for a year 2006 bike
- Marzocchi EXR Dual Air fork 100mm travel - serviced a few months ago, stickers have scratches but structurally intact and working wonderfully
- Renthal Duo Stem 50mm offset / 10deg rise - Purchased for £75 last June. Mint condition, rode a handfull of times since. Could sell it on its own for close to the RRP but rather sell the lot at once. Unless someone is interested in the stem only, hit me up with an offer
- Crank Brothers Cobalt bottom bracket - excellent condition, rode just a couple of times (on road) so has most of its left - Purchased for £55 last December
- Sram X9 groupset (minus the cassette) - great condition. Front derailleur has been changed to a Deore when the bike was serviced, but work seamlessly
- Fabric Cell Radius saddle - great condition. Just a bit of discoloration, but awesome saddle. Really add 1 or 2cm of "suspension" for your bum. Purchased for £50 last year
- Truvativ Blaze cranks - good condition, few marks
- Shimano Hydraulics brakes - great condition. Have been serviced last June too.
- FSA Comet bars - good condition
- Lizard Skins Danny MacAskill grips - excellent condition, fitted last December so plenty of life left
- Stolen Thermalite Pedals - bearings are still smooth, pedals just a bit dirty as you can expect.
The price of the Renthal stem and Crank Brothers BB come up to £120 so add a few tenners and you get a nearly complete quality MTB :)
- GT Avalanche 0.5 Large size frame - structurally intact, just a few scratches and marks here and there. Excellent condition for a year 2006 bike

Sorry for the delay in getting back/updating the pictures and sizing - all will be done today.
The_Kindness_of_Trees, I agree that the blue rims can seem out of place on this bike (this was the exact same thought I had when I first saw the picture from my friend), but the pics really don't do it any justice... the blue blends relatively well with the celeste while the pearlescent paint really steals the show here.
Frame itself is very well preserved. Structurally it's flawless, cosmetically only has minor marks and a couple paint chips on the top tube. Happy to arrange a meeting on evenings or this weekend if you'd like to have a proper look at it to get a better opinion?

It is with great sadness that I’m putting my beloved Bianchi up for sale after months of indecision. To cut a long story short, I can’t justify keeping it due to lack of space and the little use I gave her since last year due to several injuries.
I’ve been riding it for the past year and a half, mainly for 5-10 miles commutes and the occasional cleared sky weekend rides – bought from a bike-collecting friend who had to start clear out his collection. He built it back in 1995 and has taken great care of it since, I am the second owner and kept equally good care.Overall condition is, conservatively, 7 out of 10 (more details by component below). Few paint chips here and there, small bits of decals are stained but no dents nor dings at all – only cosmetic marks, nothing structural. The bike has been kept indoors and rarely ridden in wet conditions. No crashes to report.
The ride is fantastic, I’ve tried my share of steel road bikes and this ride outclassed most – if not all. Extremely responsive, light and stiff - yet provides a comfortable ride even on London’s streets (thanks to the Randonneur). I’ve also done a few 60+ miles ride in Surrey Hills or Norfolk without any discomfort. It’s more versatile that one would imagine it to be (me first).

HI lowpug, sorry for the late reply been away for the weekend.
The camera is ideal for some backpacking holidays, I used it in Mexico for a couple of months and it was perfect - small, easy to carry, solid and always producing high quality snaps (I'd say the results in RAW are closer to a DSLR than a compact camera).Excellent for landscapes as the lens is a 28mm. Never felt a wider or narrower lens would be an improvement, great for all situation from landscapes to street photography, as well as some macro works too.
Let me know what you think, I can email you some landscapes or other samples images if that can maybe help?
