@shinybicycle - I use either Finish-Line Dry lube - its kind of like a white thick cream that works pretty well, or Rock n Roll Gold - this is meant to clean your chain as you ride - you just apply it and wipe down your chain as it "expels" dirt. Unless you are on top of it though, it will get dirty.
The Wet lubes seem to attract dirt and get a bit filthy (and be more prone to leaving black marks on clothes etc), which is why I tend to use the "dry" lubes - you need to apply slightly more often when wet.
As Rodabod says, lube chain, spin chain through to help lube soak in, wipe it down. Wipe down occasionally after that (more often in rain) and re-lube sporadically. No need to oil chainset.

Hi guys - I have a pair of Campagnolo Superleggeri pedals that are a bit tarnished (and could probably do with a bit of an overhaul generally). I have had a look on here, but if anyone has any tips/ideas in relation to cleaning and removing the tarnish etc (and regreasing etc) they would be gratefully received.
Photos (not great ones) here:

I have a playbook (not for sale tho). It is a decent enough tablet. Pairesd with a blackberry it works well to read emails etc, struggles with large files. Non-skype compatible which is a shame. Takes an awful long time to boot up and the 7' screen has been criticised for being too small.
Perfect for a bit of web browsing, video and arsing about though. Price had fallen massively at retailers. I got mine on ebay with a load of freebies - the standard charger takes an age to recharge it, but there is a quick one.
Oh no usb slots so no garmins etc. That is rubbish...

Just to confirm, donation has been made and received. Thanks to all on here for support and chasing.
Amount I left completely up to the buyer - it was the principle of a donation that was the most important thing to me/the charity and now that has been made, I consider the "deal" to have been concluded - if he had left any sum at all, that would have been fine, so he has met his end of the bargain.
Thanks again to all on here - good self policing!
Cheers

251 posts on here. Bought and sold stuff. Asked for assistance in getting a stolen bike back. He was young, but certainly old enough to know better.

Thanks Guys - this is the correspondence I had with Vibez - he has been identified by the thread above:
This was the deal that we had on the seatpost:
I'll tell you what. If you want it - you can pick it up from me (SW13 or EC1A) or I'll post it and you can work out how much you want to pay for it and pay that money to the justgiving page of our charity - http://www.justgiving.com/100climbs
Seatpost picked up on 18 April 2012. No donation left so I sent the following email:
"Mroli: Hello mate, All OK with the seatpost? Cheers M" 20 April 2012
"Vibez: Hi The Seatpost Is Great Thanks ! I Shall Donate Some Money After I Could Deposit Some Money Onto My Bank Account ! Thanks" 20 April 2012
"Mroli: Mate - a polite nudge to remind you. www.justgiving.com/100climbs 30 April 2012
"Mroli: Dude - its 2 weeks since you came and picked up the seatpost. I'd appreciate you making a donation or arranging to return the seatpost to me. We did this deal on trust - please don't abuse that. Cheers M" 2 May 2012
"Vibez: Hi I Apologize About This, My Account Is On Overdraft And It Won't Let Me Take Out Anymore Money, Soon As I Sort This Out I Will Make A Donation" 2 May 2012
"Mroli: It is now over a month since you took the seatpost from me. Again - I reiterate, please make a donation immediately or return the seatpost to me. If you couldn't afford to make a donation, you should not have taken the seatpost. I have been incredibly patient - but you still have not made a donation, have not contacted me to tell me of any problems other than when I have contacted you and I am pretty hacked off. When I deal with people on LFGSS, I do it on trust and you are abusing that at the moment. I am pretty hacked off - so either let me know where I can pick the post up from, or make a donation. Not meeting your end of the bargain is effectively stealing - and you are stealing from a charity. M" 21 May 2012
No response to that email. No further response.
I have a mobile number, but hope that he'll see this and be shamed into paying up.....

Because they posted on here that they wanted a Thomson inline seatpost. I had one lying around, pm'd the guy a pic and said if he wanted it, all he had to do was make a donation to a kids charity I run (I left the amount up to him). He rode over and picked it up and said he'd put the money in on justgiving. He hadn't paid after a couple of weeks. I pm'd him to 'remind' him and he said he didn't have any noney, but he'd do it soon. I waited a couple of weeks and sent him a reminder. I know he has seen the reminder, but still no donation.
I went on trust - the bloke looked me in the face and took the seatpost. He had a decent lo-pro.
Just the principle of it I guess - LFGSS is a community within the wider cycling community, everyone I have dealt with on here previously has been honest and it is guys like this that leave a sour taste and stop the trust.

Yeah - I think I'm going to leave that to someone else to complete! All my holidays etc this year have been targeted around completing this challenge and the wife, dog and daughter deserve a bit of a break...

Apologies for resurrecting this thread - but thought you might like to now that I am now up to 99 with just Mott St in Essex to go. Blog is pretty up to date (at 97) with two just to go up. North Yorks Moors and Wales were the last to be done and some goodies in there - Rosedale and Bwlch Y Groes the standouts I guess.

Garden broken into last night. 3 bikes taken.
Black Dedacciai Pista - has my name on stickers (Mark Oliver) a non-stock carbon Specialized fork, slate grey cambium saddle, pink Chris King headset, v-sprint wheels. Silver cable guides holding rear brake cable to bike. Fixed 48 x 16 (I think). Looks like this:

Bike no 3 Boardman Comp SC - singlespeed version of the al frame. pretty tired. As stock, but with red white and blue headset spacers. blue tatty bar tape, no cages. Used as station bike.
give me shout if you've got any tips/spots.
