Oh, and did anyone else spot Masterchef's John Torode on the ride?

Loved it. My first ever sportive too. Did the short route only because I completely missed the decision point! Not too gutted though, as finished just as the rain was starting. 12th - not bad considering I did an extra loop of westerham because of a missing sign and went past the feed station and down that muddy lane twice as a result! Reckon i would've been in with a shout at the podium (in my head) if it wasn't for that! Garmin for the win next year!!

If the nut is just turning (it is), will drilling the bolt not just make it spin really fast? Or will it still do the required damage eventually?
It isn't even remotely close to precision dentistry to drill out a chain ring bolt. I have had to do this to remove aluminum bolts, since they strip so easily. Of course aluminum is a bit easier to drill through than steel, but the principle remains the same. Might as well leave the crank on...

Cheers. Just UTFgoogle'd and found a few alternatives here:

Will try some of these first I guess...
Sounds a bit dodgy tbh, but I would say take the cranks off the bike, then pick a drill bit just a tiny bit too big to fit into the bolt. Then when you have drilled through with that one pick the next size up. It would be a shame to kill your cranks for the sake of this bolt, so go easy! 'Measure twice cut once'.

Have UTFS'd but couldn't see anything on this...
Converting an old 80s peugeot to a beater. Its got a double chainring and I reckon I can just use the smaller ring so I was hoping to remove the bigger ring. 4 of the chainring bolts came out easily but the last one just spins. I've got the proper chainring nut tool but the grooves in the nut are now totally chewed and I can't get enough purchase. So.... is it possible to drill it out? Anyone done this? If so, what size drillbit is best? And can it be done without removing the cranks? If worst comes to worst I'll just leave both rings on for now, but would rather not... Ta!!

Have UTFS'd to no avail. I bought a bike off ebay the other day. The seller has contacted me to say that he's just spent an hour taking it apart and packing it into a bike box he got from his LBS but that Parcelforce have told him it's 3.1M total and their limit it 3.0M so they won't take it !?!? I'm quoting him there so please don't ask me exactly how he/they are measuring the thing! Anyway he's suggested finding an alternative courier. Anyone got any recommendations? I don't want to have to pay a lot as it's not an expensive bike - just going to turn it into my winter beater.
Cheers!

for any one in london's famous london's famous borough of camden, i can thoroughly recommend applying for free cycle training, the person who i contacted was very good at communicating, i expected waiting days for replies and then poor communicating but they were very good at getting all the relevant info out of me.
@ VL ... I'm a Camden's famous Camdenite and have also been in touch with them about training and impressed with speed of response etc.. Just need to get back to them with some poss dates. If you do yours soon be sure to post a review as would be interested to hear how it goes...

There's a little footbridge over the canal between Primrose Hill and the entrance to the Broadwalk in Regents Park. I often use this as part of my route into work. Now I know I'm not strictly supposed to cycle over it so I always check if there's any peds before doing so and if not I'll still just crawl over at snail's pace and if there are then I'll dismount. Anyway I was doing this last week, there was nobody there, except for..... the THREE POLICE that stepped out FROM BEHIND A WALL and busted me for it!!! I explained how happy I was that my taxes were being so well used in the fight against real crime and the WPC actually said the following words...
'Well you know how it is.... targets and all that'
SPEECHLESS
Anyway, just thought I'd warn you because they were there again this morning so they've obviously realised they've found a rich little trap! Fortunately I was once bitten twice shy and didn't contribute to their 'targets and all that' today!!!

Have UTFS'd.
Swapping the seatpost clamp on my 09 Track, 61cm frame. Spec says its 28.6mm, e.g.:
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/fuji/track-2009-single-speed-road-bike-ec016010
Just bought a nice Salsa liplock 28.6mm but it won't fit over my seat tube. Looks a couple of mm to narrow. Anyone know if the bigger frames have a bigger clamp size or something?
Also, as an aside, anyone know why the Fuji Track appears to no longer feature on the official Fuji website??? Odd.
Cheers!
