It’s a miserable bike to ride on anything but turbo. So heavy, so dull. It’s like pedalling a barge. I need a little va va voom. Been riding a modified cotic BFE with Penny on the back and it’s been great, despite being hard work.
Got the double nursery run from January onwards it’s gonna be an ordeal.

I’ve got a multicharger but I’m looking for something acoustic to replace it as found my fitness plummeted when I replaced the acoustic bike with electric for doing nursery run.
A UTE would be ideal but there don’t seem to by many about, the big dummy is expensive, and the yuba is shit/heavy. Cant believe just a few years ago a full UTE build was less than £650 new. Fucking brexit.
The perfect find would be a mid or longtail frame to take 2 kids out back, that could perhaps take a suspension fork, 27.5 x 2-2.2 tyres…. Clandestine do some anmazing examples but if going custom I have other options - I ideally want something ASAP.
Any ideas for something OTP?
Searching out a steel mtb frame and stick a longer back end on is a potential option if I can’t find an easier way.
Looking for a large if anyone has something appropriate gathering dust.

Bosch battery management uses its own energy to warm the battery up to optimal temperature which results in much lower range in winter (maybe around 60%)
I have a Bosch ebike I use for nursery run and store it in a garage - it’s fine. Just be aware that you’ll have reduced range and also it may reduce the longevity of the battery slightly.

No worries, I felt mild guilt as had a 58 CDF frame hanging unused. Built it back up now as commuter/bad weather bike. Not had time to fit the racks and guards but been out on a shakedown this morning, forgot how much I like the bike.
Did you find a 58 in the end?
edited after a productive 2 hour toddlers nap - need to sort front mudguard later

Get new dropouts/splitter or new back end brazed into your Genesis, spend money on rohloff and belt bits, use as much as possible of existing build to get going and upgrade anything else over time. Should be doable on budget and you’d have a rohloff which is the dream.
This is also something we could help with at Woodrups.

A struggle at ~£3k for a full build though to be frank, especially with dynamo lights etc on the list.
Frame and fork you’re starting around £2k.
@MitzEclipse you’re welcome to get in touch if you’d like to discuss we’ve built some lovely belt drive bikes shop@woodrupcycles.com

Basically the 2 straps that go around the bar are around the little handle thing on the back of the rack (I plan on replacing these with Restrap fast straps), and then the 2 closure straps are looped through the rack and closed. I had been using a super C but the shape of this works much better and it’s got a plastic base built in (I added one to the super C) I’ll try and get some photos next week.
Sits really stably and takes about 30 seconds to fit or remove. It’s also massive with the long flap top. Best bag they’ve ever done.
The universal bar support they’ve done is really neat as well, building up a hardtail and will use it on that.

My life would look very different without the forum @Velocio , I owe a lot of great experiences, the meeting of many great people, a huge about of knowledge and I would go as far to say i owe my career to the forum and its people. Echoing the many responses above the loss of the forum and it’s archives of knowledge and shit chat would be a real shame, along with the loss of the ongoing community.
