Hi guys,
I'm selling a vintage Raleigh Team Banana Road Bike, very good nick!

Looking for £90.
I need to get rid of some stuff due to moving home at the end of the month, so there's a wheelset in the components thread.
I live in Barnet, 10mins walk from New Barnet and High Barnet stations.
It's best to contact me on 075 3848 0644 as I'm going to be fairly busy. First come first served.

Hi guys,
Selling a set of Mavic Aksium, has had approx. three months usage out of them. I've had them for around two years or so, and have never had the heart to get rid of them as I always thought I would find some time to start up a project. Unfortunately it didn't happen. :(
Anyhoo, I need to get rid of some stuff due to moving home at the end of the month. There's a Team Banana Raleigh bike I'm selling in another thread.
I'm ideally looking for £100, but open to barter. ;) - They are in very good condition, just needs a bit of a wash to be honest. The cassette comes with, it's a bit worn and has a spacer that fit my old beloved Peugeot Tourmalet frame (RIP).
I live in Barnet, 5-10mins walk from New Barnet & High Barnet
Stations.I relocated to N5 Islington, London.

Ha! Clubman, nutritious three pints.
Ian, sounds good bud. Do you think you'll be going back? I haven't ventured yet to any, but with the weather starting to make a turn soon (I hope) I'll probably try the Southgate one, so thanks for the heads up, 65miles sounds nice so I'll prep for that one.
I did send them an e-mail a while back for more details as they didn't have much then on their website for this year. But never heard anything from them.
I've been straight up north a few times from Barnet through Hatfield, lot's of nice country lanes about.

Evenin' all, I've been AWOL for an awful long time.
Anyway, I moved to Barnet in July '13 and love the area, perfect for Road Cycling. Not long got myself a suitable bike.
I've often seen quite a number of lycra groups down the high road pedaling a long on the weekends.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any cycling clubs in the area or round about? As I'm mostly out and about on the weekends and seriously looking forward to some good weekend weather. (If it even comes, knowing England.)
Cheers.

Hi all,
My BB recently started to wear out and has finally given in, unfortunately, which is causing the crank set to wibble-wobble.
Went to my LBS a while back in hope that they could pinpoint the issue and replace the BB, however they were unable to get it apart due to corrosion.
So my question is, if by chance it does completely give in and I manage to get it out by force, what is the likely-hood the frame is unharmed and still salvageable? Has anyone got any thoughts on getting it apart?
It's quite a nice frame and really love it. But I'm afraid it may be FUBAR.
Just so you can see the severity of it, here's a bloody video.

rodabod, I'll check out that DP420. I didn't use Ethanol or what I also read is Denature Alcohol. I'll have to try that. Thanks.

Managed to get the frame apart from the lugs using a carjack pretty much. I don't want to attempt to apply more resin to it just yet since the last time failed.
I'm wondering if anyone in London (or close) has any experience in dealing with these types of frames? I have Bondloc resin (and little Araldite left), anyone willing to give it a go for me?

With enough force I can get the tube to slide up, but not far enough. Any more force I'll probably end up damaging something. Only thing I can think of is some clamp/vice to keep it seperated while I apply the resin around the lug. Thought this will most unlikely to work. Need to proper get up there in the tube.
It's the one on the right.

Well, I did actually get around to doing this some time back.
Bad news...
Recently the vertical tube has come apart (looks like I didn't apply enough resin). But, in order for me to apply another 'fix' to this. I need to get the other tube to come apart. I've tried applying some force with my weight, and even bashing the frame (cushioned of course) in hope that the shock will crack the resin apart.
Can anyone recommend a solution to getting it apart again? Or somehow sorting out the issue. I'm more than happy to leave this in someone elses hands with pay.
I can't bear to let this bike go. I've been considering drilling a small hole through the frame and have a bolt to support it. But I'm wary that this may damage it and also shun it's beautiful looks.
Once again I'm either walking 3.5 miles to work or taking public transport. (wretch...)

Yeah Rodabod initially I did think about doing something like that but my resources aren't great for this. Plus I would be worried about ruining it somehow. Would only put that in careful hands of a pro.
Adroit - Some one did mention about using sand paper to roughen the inner side of the down tube and outer part of the lugs to add extra support because of the grittyness? But this was based on an analysis of general metal bonding and not for bikes. What do you think?
I will ensure that the procedure is done correctly, I don't want this going tits up somehow.

Found this. Looks suitable.

Sorry what frame do you have and what cassette? The cassette is old, needs a scrub. And does have a spacer in it. So you may want to break it down, clean, or replace the set entirely. I was meant to remove the cassette, but did not have a chain-whip at the time. So it comes with.
