Just a public service announcement -
Carradice have done a run of Barley Super C saddlebags, so if you fancy one, best give them a call. They still had some available this afternoon when I ordered mine but I don't know how many they have or how long they'll hang around for.
If you don't know what they are and can't work it out from the name, they're a Barley sized Super C, or a Super C styled Barley, depending on which way you want to look at it :)
They're £50.

tl;dr: Stick with College.
Some points for you to consider:
You do a lot less hours in college than you do in a job (generally speaking) so you will have more free time to cycle than if you ditch college for a full time job.
If it's a 2 year or longer course and you hate it, consider swapping to something you don't hate. If you're just bored, stick with it. If it's a year long course then HTFU, you're already 33% of the way there!
It's a good solid trade to be in, and as many have already said, it gives you the opportunity to earn decent money in the future. As someone else has also pointed out, you could well end up self employed which might give you the flexibility to do more cycling than you would get in a permanent job.
Please bear in mind that having a qualification, any qualification at all, will help you to get your first job. When I see a CV from someone who hasn't had a related job before applying for the one I'm filling, I look to see if they have committed to anything beforehand. The very fact that you finished college might be the difference between getting an interview and being binned.
Perhaps consider a change of part time job? Do you have a LBS near you that you could try to get a job at? Your income might go down in comparison to the mushroom farm but you'll be surrounded by bikes when you're at work and it's possible you'll get a discount!
Don't expect to know what you want to do for the rest of your life at the age of 17. I'm 38 and still don't have a scooby what I want to do when I grow up. At this point, I doubt I ever will grow up! :)
Good luck with your decision.

I have one too. In terms of size, the largest single item I've ever had in it was a boxed 17" macbook Pro. That only just fit in it as it was exactly the same width as the bag. I still had plenty of room in front of the box though to stuff in my day to day stuff, and there was plenty of room left on the straps so I could have taken a taller box...
They're very comfy and have loads of little pockets.

@ozzeh your best ever gadget purchase is a battery? Seriously?
You should get a nintendo gameboy, you'll be in bits...
I'd had some beers. I may have exaggerated slightly :)

got one of these android phones everyones been talking about (samsung galaxy s2). does anyone use cyanogenmod? someone said i should get it as it will improve battery life and make the phone faster, which is why i got the phone, upgrade from a slow old iphone.
is it worth it? bearing in mind i know shit all about how to install it and really dont wanna break my new phone
I've used Cyanogenmod on a Galaxy S2 but I went back to a modified Samsung ROM instead as there were a two issues which drove me batshit. The first was that you couldn't turn off the backlit buttons (now fixed in later versions of the rom) and the second was the screen brightness. I like to have my screen on auto-bright but the extremely adjustable settings on CM were unbe-fucking-lievably complicated to adjust and way too dark by default.
I was disappointed because Cyanogenmod was faster than the stock rom I was running at the time, but there are lots of other roms out there which give you similar performance to cyanogen. I'm currently running Androidmeda Hyperdroid which is as fast as CM and suffers from none of the other irritations I was having so I'm happy with it for now!
I'd stick with it in stock form until you find something that really irritates you and then look for ways to fix it without changing the rom. If you can hold off for a couple of months then there will be usable ICS roms available soon, and that would give you a real reason to upgrade! :)
P.S. The official samsung extended battery (the 2000mah one) is brilliant. I've had one for about a week and it's probably the best £20odd I've spent on gadgets ever.

I'd ask a UK shop first though.

If you want to try a custom ROM then don't worry too much about resetting it back to default afterwards. You can download the carrier branded firmware your phone came with from a thread on XDA-Developers here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
There is a counter on the phone which will show up that you've flashed a ROM on there but it's very unlikely that o2 will notice it. If you're worried then you can reset the counter using a USB Jig:
