Hello LFGSS, it's been a while.
I have this bike for sale. I never ride it any more. I don't honestly know what to ask for it so I'll offer it up for and you can all tell me I am dreaming. It's in Brighton. I can bring it to London or you can come to the seaside for a holiday. You might use it for that cross racing or getting beers or whatever people do with bikes these days. It's dirty because I rode it off the road, I should probably clean it and take better pics. It's used but not abused and all the bits have miles and miles left in them.

Starting this up again after a year of it languishing in my cupboard.
Just added Frogglegs. They actually might work on the insane 55mm narrow brake posts. Next stop Mafac if not.
Got an old Mavic 500 wheelset on there with a 6 speed freewheel. I would like to see if an 8 speed would fit. I definitely need low gearing, as I am crap on hills.
Similarly, old XT triple on there, hopefully I can get a BB that will let me use this. Would gladly take suggestions for other cranks tho.
I am thinking I will go with drops, 8 speed bar end shifters, and simple brake levers. All of which I'll need to find...
Tan wall CX tyres too ofc.

@Fatberg Si, Jagstang. Impulse buy, rad shape.
@tommmmmmm I reckon pawn shops are great places to look for guitars and amps and all sorts of music equipment. They're often looking to shift stuff through and they're often less concerned about the details.
@Dogtemple Yep, London Road :) Come round for a twang if you're keen? It's a re-issue from 2003 going by the serial number and the internet. I was hoping for an original but you can't have everything.
@>>>>>> £450, so a bit less than these go for usually, on account of its tattiness. I'm going to do a few things to it but honestly I just like looking at it. If I don't end up playing it much then it's not the end of the world. Already eyeing up Mustangs and Duo-Sonics for swaps tho.

I love these neo-axes but I am less enamoured with the happy polyphonic floaty/djenty music they're associated with. It all sounds like pre-Russian Circles guitar band Dakota/Dakota but not as gritty - https://forgeagainrecords.bandcamp.com/album/shoot-in-the-dark
Thanks for the kind words about my humble collection. I would like to see others' collections too!

It came to me completely in bits with no pickups, the guy I got it from had found two and combined them to make one "good one" so I have all the reject bits here haha. Paid over the odds for it and then had a luthier do the rest, I seem to like to throw money at shit guitars! I just thought the body shape was so unusual as to be worth saving. That said, the 80's DiMarzio SDs sound great with distortion, I like to play Sabbath on this beast.
As for your Tele...go for it!
I have a hankering for a Tele Custom. I just love the creamy neck pickup sound for soloing, esp with a bit of drive or compression.

Squier Standard Jazz Bass, Mexican Fender Cabronita, PRS SE Soapbar II, The Sanox, Fenix ST-10, Yam RGX A2
My Epi SG Custom is at the luthier having new pickups put in and new wiring because I failed to manage it!
Also there's my acoustic which is an 90s Korean Epi PR-775s
...and another pic of the Sanox because it's cool as fuck.
That's 8 but the other 2 are really quite shit so no photos. One of them was my first guitar so I am loathe to get rid of it although I don't play it any more

Ooh that's interesting. I have been favouring 0.11's recently on my Telecaster Cabronita and PRS SE Soapbar II. I have tended to start a guitar on 0.10's then change either up or down once I get used to it.
I now have 10 guitars, all quite low end, and I'm wondering what I should do to rationalise my collection. I was like this with bike about 10 years ago!

Can confirm it is light at about 3kg with a poly strap. Seems to be quite a flat radius on the fretboard and it's really very nicely put together indeed. I think it would be good for metal chuggas with the neck pickup and the replacement P90 that's in my one sounds very metallic on its own. They don't play well together in my opinion, might have something to do with a mismatch in output, but when both are on it's quite weak sounding. Individually they're pretty nice though!

Ooh, I got one of these in a pawn shop on Friday... £96! I took it to my tame luthier for a setup so that's added on to the cost but still, I wanted one of these when I didn't play guitar so it was nice to finally get one.
The bridge pickup has been replaced with a single coil though, that's a bit sad as the original is missing now, but it did sound quite nice!

Boss Katana 50 for £120 delivered here - http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/143594/fs-roland-blues-cube-hot-boss-katana-50
The denizens of that forum love those things and it seems mighty versatile via the videos I've watched.
Is "The Fretboard" just LFGSS for guitars?

Agreed but it's a bit of a minefield if you don't know what you're looking for.
As for cheap amps, look for secondhand solid state from well known manufacturers like Orange. They sound fine at bedroom levels and they take pedals very well. Pedals themselves are a fun hobby and needn't be too expensive.
I love the way the J Mascis looks! I think that Danelectro make cheap cool guitars and there's the perennial Yamaha Pacifica too. You can get some of the higher end Pacificas for £200-ish and they're amazing for that sort of money.

Surely you've got better things you could be doing than this? I just read the whole thread (because I don't have better things to do) and you should stop digging. You're not under threat from any of the people here and if things start percolating out into the real world, you'll know who to blame...yourself.
