Roxy does the helmet protect his spine? What happens if your boyfriend lose his legs or arms? Helmets don't protect against these potential consequences of a collision, which in my opinion are as likely to happen as massive brain injury...
.
That's a ridiculous point to make. The fact they don't protect your arms legs or spine is not a valid reason to go without one. -
catlike whistper = shit
mine broke after wearing it no more than 10 times. A guy at the track had the same problems some days before. THe plastic that holds the straps at the backis too weak and snaps and the padding comes all off.
Ok well I don't actually have a whisper but I couldn't find a photo of mine; it has however served me well for the last year or so, and by helmet standards I reckon a
good looking piece of kit.I just back 'em that's all.
And I guess this debate it just like religion or politics in that I've been raised on the idea that they're good ideas and save lives, so I think it's preposterous that people are saying wearing them is a BAD idea. I just don't get it. How can protecting your head be a BAD idea?

I would genuinely ride one of these if I could afford it

... Those hipsters think they look the bollocks on their arropoked lo-pros when in fact everyone else thinks they look like complete cocks. They would never wear a helmet for no other reason than ego.
...they are not particularly expensive, uncomfortable or unsightly. They are not compulsory so you can make your own decision to wear one or not, but make that an informed decision based on your safety, not what you think you will look like.
... I see no practical reasons not to.

As much as we whinge every now and then back home about being forced to wear one, I know a lot of people who've split helmets open and I think in general people are glad to be forced to wear one, coz even though they don't look cool you try and find a cool one and even if you look like a geek "it's not my fault, it's the law, what are you gunna do?"
that being said i've been riding helmet-less since i got here, just coz I'm allowed to, and it's a bigger deal because I'm pretty vain and I feel like a total nard with one on...

Please- I'm not making any value judgments as to how fast or proficient on bikes any girls are. I
keep forgetting people on here don't understand when I'm being facaetious... I got respect for everyone on bikes and only want to encourge it.Notw to self: stop making jokes. These people don't get them.
-
I agree the boys club vibe can be tedious, but a girl who's gonna put herself in amongst 250 sweaty men on bikes would need to have a thicker skin than to have a little photo like that put her off cycling don't you think? Maybe it's a cultural difference but the girls I know aren't that sensitive...

You're a fucking idiot and the quicker you fuck off back to the cave you live in the better.
.
God, would everybody calm down? It was a joke for fvck's sake- if you're so worried about your jobs why are you arsing around on a forum instead of working in the first place? The link wasn't no hardcore porn, I was a cheeky flick from a nude ride that was supposed to inspire a chuckle! If people like andyp and aroogah are so sensitive maybe it's them that should fvck off back to a
cave and stop bringing all this negative bullsh!t to what's supposed to be entertaining!Don't worry fellas, I'll be out of your country soon enough...
Sorry for any offense caused

I never used to run headphones because I tried it with some awesome sound cancelling senneheisers, great for sound quality, great for nearly gettin yourself killed. I soon switched to Some Sony sports jobbies, that hang over the ear instead of in it, And blok out very little noise If any. Now I can't ride alone without them. I am still totally aware of all traffic, cycle motor or otherwise (well, as much as if no phones were worn) and I can have a great soundtrack for every ride! I've ridden them all through London (as I've been discovering it) and I'm telling you, if you like music at all, it's for the win. Drum 'n' bass don't really work for me, I've tried it... My favourite riding albums recently have been:
madlib-blunted in the bomb shelter- reggae/dub has a great beat
beats 'n' rhymes- hip hop of the 90's, all 3 albums - a bit generic but some real good tracksand I actually had an awesome riding experience recently to a vince jones & grace knight album called "come in spinner"- some smooth jazz standards late at night is so peaceful to ride with, the whole thing was so cool...
But a lot of the time I jus got my iPod on random
I BACK IT! Get the little hangy-over-your-ears sporty numbers and get some beat to your ride!!!

Me and - Matty - showing people how to stand when you're really cool- drinking, smoking, that pose does it all!

I once attempted to talk to a girl on a lovely NJS frame. It didn't go well. I said "nice bike. what is it?" She looked me up and down, spotted the gears on my Steve Goff and haughtily replied, "a Japanese Keirin frame" and rode off.
I really did only want to know what make it was.
.
Yeah well unfortunately just because a girl rides doesn't mean she's not going to be stuck up, same goes boys too...
