Just about recovered from the epic amounts of skidding drinking dancing and arm wrestling.
Was ace to see everyone and have some amazing polo played on (albeit slippy) home turf.Couple of flickr sets here that people have sent links to. enjoy.

Hey, be good to see some of you at this. Particularly as the UK champs probably won't come this far north often.

Not sure whether there are girls playing in cambridge but don't let it put you off if there aren't. When I started polo in manc I was one of the only girls playing regularly and still really enjoyed it. The great thing about polo is things like strength and speed on the road really don't make a difference to how good you are at it. Not saying you can't get macho posing at polo, but it's hard to be macho when you're running a spinny gear on a beater bike and riding in tiny circles waving a mallet with a yellow drainpipe stuck on the end.

So, my twopence worth as a female mechanic:
I've had bike shops tell me to my face and behind my back that they won't employ me because I'm a girl. I've had some shit experiences working as a mechanic and some great ones. I'm currently working in a lovely shop with 2 female mechanics out of the 7 or 8 that work there. Yesterday a woman brought her two little girls into the workshop so they could see that there was a woman working there. Which I found kinda funny, but also quite nice and promising.
@enid - pm me re evans (or anything else) if you want, I'm avoiding too much employment related chat on a public forum, but am more than happy to bitch/answer questions out of the public domain. good luck with it all!

Anyone who wasn't out tonight to listen to my drunken ramblings... I've got a coupla trial shifts at jobs and stuff in Edinburgh so I'm not likely to be around much anymore. Sorry I couldn't leave in a decisive, tap-out kinda way, but yeh, I'll be back a bit so hopefully see people then. But otherwise, good luck, take care n i'll see you when the new EFG incarnation comes down to kick your asses. 's been good. xx
Cheers Newcastle! Ace day all round, thanks for organising. Great fun and loadsa good polo. Bring on S.H.I.T 4!
