I bought a 'new' 2008 Giant Omnium track frame on Ebay and want to fit a front brake.
Frame like this... http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/giant-tcr-omnium-item113786.html
I've got a new Dia Comp BRS100 front brake but the bolt isn't long enough to go through the fat forks and the allen-key style rear fixing isn't compatible with my fork anyways. It just has a basic hole drilled through, rather than a wider one at the back for the allen key bolt.
So... anyone got any advice on what I do now?
1) Just get a different brake that fits straight it. How do I guarantee the bolt will be long enough as they don't specify in brake info/stats.
2) Drill out the back of the fork. Brrrr! Rather not.
3) Any ideas what will fit, brands / style etc. Looking at about £20 for the brake I guess.Any help gratefully received!

Been trying to sell the wheels that came with a quirky (fixie) track bike build to get some with machined surfaces... but nobody wanted them. Probably let down by the basic hubs so have stripped them down and offering the OR10 rims on their own. Probably early-mid '80s?
On ebay with no reserve if you fancy a punt...

Yeah, the seat post isn't that high in reality! Just slotted it in for the photo.
Was actually thinking either gold rims or as a mad choice, red. Can't be doing with all this black and silver nonsense. Just a bit too safe for my tastes. Bonus is that at least the wheels are less likely to get stolen. :)

Just putting together some 700c Deep V's but fannying about deciding on the colours. Made a bunch of variations and included the Photoshop file if you want to experiment too...

NEW-Mavic-OR10-track-wheels-Token-hubs-Kevlar-tyres
Just got my first fixie! This is my first post! Yay! Want go put it on the road. But it has track specific rims with no brake surfaces. Ideally want to sell these and get some velocity something-or-others. Clearly have no idea of what they are worth but if they don't sell, I can always try another way. Figuring £145 for the wheels and £50 for the tyres. Will see what happens...
Enjoying the forum though! :) bit of an edcuation from my "garage full of mountain bikes" standpoint.
Thanks for the heads-up. Just phoned Edwardes. Seem a nice bunch. £10 to drill it so will head over next week. Thanks all!
