Thanks for all comments added I hear today that the bike has a couple of bent tubes (albeit very slightly bent). Thus rendering the frame potentially dangerous.
As an act of goodwill I have offered a refund of £25 or to buy it back for £65.Hugo7 thanks for the balanced viewpoint (the bike actually sold for £115)

Sorry just had to look up what caveat emptor meant.
I have emailed a reply to him asking what figure he was looking for and will see what he comes back with.
I would not have started this thread if I was looking to stitch him up with a dodgy frame, however if it has been adequately repaired I would trust it is OK?
How can you tell if the repair is good and safe?
It looks good but we are talking safety. -

I sold a bike recently through this site and got a fair price for it (a little over £100).
On inspection the buyer found that the top tube had been repaired or even replaced which would imply the frame was involved in an accident.
I was not aware of this and the bike did not show any signs of weakness to me and I am 14 stones, however I only rode it for a few miles and I am not very technically minded for these sort of things.
On a brief check of the bike when we conducted the transaction the buyer did not notice the problem either. The question is what would be the right thing to do?
The options as I see them are :
Take it back and give the money back (of course I would rather not do this)
Pay some compensation for something I was not aware of
Leave it (this I think is not very fair).A general question would be are frames repairable? and if so how can you determine if they are safe to ride?
Any advice gratefully received

I am 6 foot 4 and have another 25" frame bike which is suitable. I agree it would be nice to have fitted me.
The frame has some markings on the under the crank housing. I don't know if my eyes are going bad but I can't make it out - it looks like GVG*222E** or 6V6*222E** the asterisks are characters not clear enough to guess at what they might be. -

The frame is in original condition, it shows use but has no visible rust. It has the SE20 man on a bike metal plaque at the front.
The frame is original and I believe the wheels (27" chrome), break calipers and seat are original as most likely is the deraillier and gear lever and handlebars.
Not sure about other parts.
It is rideable, but the rear brake cable is not attached (I have it but the end has frayed and I can't get it back through the frame guides).
It would suit conversion to fixed wheel (fixtie) for a purist who wishes to own a piece of history. It has horizontal rear drop outs.
The frame is 23 inches from base of seat post to centre of crank.
I have a small rack for it as well, but this is not an old item and it is not fitted.

Sorry this is the best I was able to get given the light.

I wouldn't mind a crank extractor if still around, I work in town so near a station in W1 would be good.
