Hey Everyone, I’ve been out of the UK for a few years now and have received the obligatory request from the parents to get rid of a few of my things which are being stored at theirs. I am now back in London through to the 2nd of August.
I can meet in Central London to deliver items, and in some cases (i.e. smaller items Post at buyer’s cost).
BMX GT – Dyno frame – pretty much in decent condition. I got this when I used to work in a bike shop some 10 years ago, meant to build it up, but never did. £20 ONO
Raleigh Twenty Frame, Fork, Handlebars and stem, pedals, crank set, fenders. This was given to me as a complete bike, but decided to strip it down and re do it as a project. I might have the original wheels stored somewhere which will also be included in the sale (if i can find them). Headset is new (well, put in about 10 years ago, but never used) £20 ONO
NS Bikes Co – Analog fork I think pre 2011. 4130 Cromoly. Came off a bike I bought as a prototype from a friends company. Hardly been used, but has some cosmetic paint chips (see pics), uncut stem and will come with stem cap. £50.00
Specialized ergo grips – never used £3 (willing to post at buyers cost)
Snafu grips – Taken off a cruiser bike, barely used £3 (willing to post at buyers cost)
GT grips – Taken off my old GT-LTS, used £3 (willing to post at buyers cost)
Unknown cork ergo grips – Taken off a bike before being used. Sold as pretty new £3 (willing to post at buyers cost)
Unknown rubber (honey comb pattern) grips – Sold as barely used £3 (willing to post at buyers cost)
Specialized body geometry – barely used £8
Selle Italia Gel saddle – Worn in, rails slightly bent, however I have tested them on a normal seat post and they do still fit. £5
Unknown stem – colour black. Geometry, please see pic. 1”1/8 steerer, bars 25.4mm. Green background is 1cm squares £5 (willing to post at buyers cost)
Unknown stem – colour silver. Geometry, please see pic. 1”1/8 steerer, bars 25.4mm. Green background is 1cm squares £5 (willing to post at buyers cost)
Specialized pump – Airforce 2. Works fine, dual action pump. Both presta and schraeder valves. Unfortunately I do not have the clip to be able to fix it on to a frame. £5 (willing to post at buyers cost)
Alloy and plastic pedals with cage – These are off my GT LTS. Bearings feel okay. £5
DMR V8 platform pedals black – one side of the bearings feel good, the other is pretty grindy, but still has some life. £2
GT Alloy platform pedals silver – bearings are okay. Still has life left in them. £5
Welgo black pedals – Alloy and plastic construction. Bearings are okay. £5
Promax Brake calliper – Barely used £5
Unknown brake calliper – Not used £3
Unknown brake lever – Left hand. £3
Donation to the forum will be made from the sales.
Thanks,
Dan

the chain in that tensioneter is the in the wrong way, it should go over the top of the orange wheel, and not under.
the second bolt to fix the tensiometer has to push up, not down as it is doing nowYeah Rik, I know. I've stuck this round for the time being until I get a better tensioner, but also if I have it around the other way I'll get chain flap and screw up the chain stays. Also saw another guy running the tensioner and seemed to work pretty good.
Cheers though.

Cheers guys. Crazy thing about this Kona is that I got it off my old manager's brother inlaw when I was working in a bike shop. He bought a new bike and wanted rid of it and accepted an offering of a £10.12p (trade price) chain cleaner! Sweet as!
Will hopefully finish the ti fixie frame that I've got soon.
Thanks again.

Cheers n3lson. I have looked at the whiteindustries ecentric hub, but to be honest, this was supposed to be a cheap conversion. Will check out the BB though. Didn't spend a great amount on parts. Wanted to get this built so I can start on a proper fixie / ss bike to commute on.
Thanks again.
you can buy eccentric bottom brackets that fit in a regular shell (i think you put and external bb into it) or an eno hub?
...or halflinks...or file the dropout...or get new dropouts...have you used a magic gear calculator?
Err...didnt use a magic gear calculator. Just sort of worked out what felt right. Thanks.

ALl that attention to detail on top quality components, but then you spoil the drivetrain by using a DMR style tensioner.
Yeah, I guess the recession hit me there. I had this spare from something else and decided to use it. Will change it over at some point. Any suggestions to of what to change it to. Only thing I think of would be Surley singulator...

Hey, I've been working on my old Kona Lava Dome 1996. Finally finished it the other day. Here are some before and after pics.

I'm still a newbie so can't post threads so thought I'd just add my question on to this one...
Brake lever related - I've got some original Kona cantilever brakes but need some levers. I've had a look at can't seem to find any decent brake levers for flat handlebars. I know Avid don't make their cantilever brake levers anymore. Do you guys know if Dia Compe Dirty Harry's or any BMX type lever would work with canti's?
Thanks
Dan

This was an old shop bike put together years ago. Please note that this is not a Cannonade frame. I think from memory it's an old Saracen frame spray painted blue with Cannondale decals.
18" frame. Single speed using a Shimano Sora rear mech as a tensioner. Turbo saddle, club roost stem and V brakes.
£50.00
