Its an app that can backup all of your installed apps and associated data for when you wipe and flash a new rom, or an old one for that matter. One of the features of the paid version, is that you can freeze the manufacturers apps which drain your battery. You don't need to be running a custom rom, but you do need root for it to install.
One of the reasons I rooted my phone within hours of getting it was to install this and block all the T Mob shite. That wasn't enough so I flashed AndyX rom to get rid of the Samsung shite too.

You could just root and then install titanium backup pro to freeze the apps you don't want running. This way you still run stock ics. Might be worth a shot.
Oh, ditch juice defender as it is an utter myth that it saves battery. It won't stop any background processes which prevent your phone from entering deep sleep.

By the way, I like your wallpaper. Is it some type of security wallpaper, that guarantees that nobody would ever steal your phone? It appears that you like a bit of a cluttered environment. :-)
EDIT:
Hang on a second, is that from a Galaxy Note? I see 5 shortcuts at the bottom of the screen.I kind of liked how ridiculously bad the wallpaper was and haven't been arsed changing it as WP Clock needs something bold there. The Widgets are all individual and you can have the indicator any colour you want. I chose that blue as it matches the status bar colour. Although I have that hidden as you can see.
Definitely not a Note I'm afraid, SGS 2 running Go Launcher. I couldn't handle something that big in my pocket. Ooh err missus!

@GA2G there are far nicer looking widgets than that one. I use switchpro which I think I paid for but it is one of the nicest looking ones IMO obviously.

Kies is only useful for the phone drivers, other than that don't bother wasting an evening pisspotting through an update with it. Got the same notification from T Mob and deliberately refused it as touchwiz appears to be bollocks compared to the clean ICS I'm currently running (AndyX 10.1, yes I've flashed this fucker about 20 times now in 3 months).
Randomly T mob also sent out a notice yesterday that my line rental was going up by 3.odd %. I got mine on a serious retention deal due to poor customer service so I've told them to basically fuck off. I'm currently awaiting a call back. Wankers!!

Strada?
cock off. This isn't Parsons green.
Everyone knows we've been doing it wrong. Should be:
Get tanked.
Hoon it down the hill like a brakeless twat to Big red.
Kebab on Holloway road.
Throw up on the way to work.
3a. Throwing up on Hornsey Hill on way home
4a. Throw up at work around 11am
That was a good night!

GA2G, I believe Cyanogen now works with Samsung but I assume anything done there will have to reflect their vision for the UI etc. The advantage of the custom roms is that you get a relatively pure Android system without any Samsung/HTC etc. guff on there. As long as you make a backup in CWM as soon as you root, you can always reinstate the original OS and wait for the official release.
If you brick it, and as mentioned before this is almost impossible to do if you can read, you can have mine which is running ICS very well. I'm that confident you won't do any harm. Whether you like what you get is another matter, but it is so easy to get back to original should this be the case.

What ICS roms are purple using on their GS2s? On AndyX 6.3 at the minute but it's too buggy for me.
edit, should have read up. 7.2 already? I only got this a couple weeks ago. Is it much better?
Been on it since Sunday and it seems very good. I didn't bother with 6.3 as it was supposedly one of the worst for bugs so I'd imagine this one will be loads better. I've had one reboot when I downloaded a pretty sketchy altimeter app without reading any reviews. Beyond that, everything seems super smooth and probably isn't too far away from what the official release will be* judging by how close we are to it.
*apart from the lack of touchwiz but then I didn't have a stock phone long enough to use it so can't comment if this is a bad thing or not

I know rooting works for many people, but the example from ** J08** up there ^^^^^^^^ is exactly why I won't be doing it. Bricking your phone is a strong deterrent, thanks.
It's surely more of deterrent from ever purchasing a Motorola.
As you own a SGS 2 that must nearly be out of contract, here's the easiest way of rooting that I've ever found. You've proved you can read, so this won't even phase you, or more importantly that wonderful, but restricted, device you own.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396952
Then download Titanium Backup Pro so you can backup all your apps and also make a nandroid backup in the CWM app provided with the root package. After that, choose your ICS ROM from the many now on offer, download it to your SD card and then flash it through recovery accessed using CWM. If it goes wrong, access recovery by pressing home, volume down and power simultaneously and reflash the backup you made in CWM which takes you back to stock. I personally now use AndyX 7.2 and have flashed each update (probably more than 10) successfully with absolutely no dramas whatsoever.
If you brick a SGS 2, you really have done something special.

One of the biggest advantages to rooting (may already have been covered) is you can get an app to block ads at the IP address level.

Definitely worth doing. It seems a small thing but it makes a huge difference to the experience.

I'm using WP Clock too, although it does use some of your battery everytime you look at any of your screens being a 'live wallpaper'. Every app you use for battery seems to drain it so just choose any one you like the look of really.
And when you get frustrated, root it and flash a more efficient rom. You know you want to.

Two in one day, with colour co-ordinated Kashimax saddle, stem and aerospoke
Shitting hell! I'm fully aware that simply riding my Plastic X (complete with HHSB carbon risers) on the road verges on the ragged edge of cuntiness, but that is just fucking awful.
Matches his hair though, so he obviously put some thought into it.

Haha, cheers dude. The only skids I'll be doing tonight will be in my... you get the idea.
