just checked this out on the bbc site cav video
first, "sports personality" it a loose term when it come to cav unless its self personality (mind you, ryan giggs is also in the list).
second, in a tight squeeze his bike skills don't seem that great. Perhaps its off-season out of form and third, by far my favourite quote....Ok, the Lycra man is freezing, let's stop there

The problem I have is there is no bb currently in the frame otherwise I'd get a like for like replacement.
Is there not a way I can calculate what spindle length I need from taking a measurement from the crank, or is there a standard size for single-speed gearing ?
I can't seem to find any information that really makes sense to me.

I'm trying to get a bottom bracket for a build i'm putting together and need to get my head around what bb length I should go for.
From what I've read the length is set from the crank and should follow what that says. However, I can't see anything more on my crank than the name (Silstar ) and length of the arms (165mm).
Is there another way for me to get the measurement I need?
Cheers!

the dell outlets pretty good for getting cheap laptops. had mine for a few years now and no real problems.
mac's are great if you sleep on a pile of cash. they're very shiny.
oh, if you want a decent operating system i can't recommend ubuntu enough. its geared for novices in unix and most of the drivers work straight away. you never need to buy software and can run windows programs on it too with a little bit of trickery. xp sucks.

I am putting together a conversion and need some advice on wheels. I have an old 1950s frame with a front dropout width of 93mm and a rear width of 114mm.
I tried to put a set of 700 mavic's (shimano 105 hub & freewheel) but they didn't fit the spacers and axle so I know I need to make sure I get the right ones.
What specific points should I be looking for regarding hub width etc. and should I be looking at 26" wheels?

that does make sense but if i have a freewheel converter kit i can use spacers to adjust my chainline right?
I'll have a look to see how easy it is to remove the bottom bracket. I also don't know what threading takes and balancing this minefield off with using cottered cranks should be fun.
may be a job for brixton cycles.

I could be interested, will send P.M.
